Devon Longstraw is situated in the centre of a row of three character cottages in the beautiful village of Croyde. It takes just a couple of minutes to walk to the beach which is well-known for its good surf.

Sleeping four people and a small or medium sized dog, this cottage has a pretty open-plan living and kitchen area with a slate floor, well-equipped modern kitchen, a good-sized dining table and comfortable settees. A stable door leads out from the kitchen to a sunny flagged patio with outside furniture. A shower room and a bedroom are also on the ground floor with zip “n” link twin beds in the bedroom which can be created into a king upon request. Upstairs, there is a huge bedroom with a king-sized bed, a sofa and a television with Playstation2.

Devon Longstraw could not be much closer to the centre of Croyde and its beach path which winds its way down through the dunes to the golden sands and of Croyde Bay. Rated as one of the best surfing beaches in the world, there is an RNLI Lifeguard service available every day from May to September, during the Easter weekend, every weekend in October and during the October half term. If you like rock pooling, head to each end of the beach. And for walkers, there are several footpaths around the village and up to Baggy Point where you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view. This whole area is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its geological features. A longer walk of 20 minutes along the nearby bridleway, takes you to Putsborough Beach which has the benefit of far reaching cliff views and year round dog friendly access. The closest pub to the cottage is the Manor House which serves up some delicious home-cooked meals.

This property COULD be outstanding we feel deceived as the pictures show it as light & airy which is not the case, at the owners expense the lights were on constantly as the bushes either side blocked light, the driveway in needs cutting back as your car gets scratched down the sides, and a little more attention by the cleaning staff would help.EnoRead moreugh negatives its location is great for a walk into the village, local pubs great and dog friendly Hide

Great accommodation. Clean, really well equipped (big mugs not small cups!). Lovely welcome cake, really comfy bed, slept really well. Lovely location, beautiful views from the bedroom. We had a lovely stay and would definitely book again.

We enjoyed our Christmas stay at the cottage and got out for lots of fab walks on the coast path. Have suggested several improvements to make the cottage feel slightly more luxurious for the price that's charged.

Another great visit to this lovely cottage. Despite some stormy weather we got out for walks and, eventually, in the sea. The cottage is ideal for two, but can easily accommodate another couple. Some minor niggles arose which will no doubt be sorted. Dont forget your TV logins.

Lovely comfy cottage in a beautiful setting. Close to both beach and local amenities. Weve been coming to a Croyde for many years and this property didnt disappoint. Very peaceful, home from home.

The location is good but lacks privacy as it is mid terrace so the small front courtyard garden(which is the only garden) can be walked through by others which is a big disappointment Bearing this in mind it isnt truly dog friendly as they can get out(as could small children) so this should be made clear as caused us problems particularly during tRead morehe evening. A general upgrade and re-planning would be a good idea as the shower is difficult to operate and the upstairs bathroom is badly lit and both have holes in the wall where shaving points and electric toothbrushes should be. There is no freezer and a frying pan is losing its non stick surface so dangerous and should be removed.(This should have been checked) Preparation of the downstairs bedroom was very poor as beds didnt look like they had been changed or ironed and the quality of sheets etc was poor. Luckily didnt need to use them but the main bedroom is large and has a small double bed under the eaves so watch your head! Generally its not bad for a short stay if youre not bothered about any of the above but could be better for the prices charged. Hide

We found the cottage clean, well equipped and comfortable. It is good value for money. Having free off road parking is a real bonus in Croyde but to access it you have to negotiate an uphill gravel driveway. The cottage would benefit from some improved internal lighting in places but overall we were comfortable.

We loved staying at Devon Longstraw! The location was fantastic with a beautiful village walk into the centre of Croyde and only another short walk beyond and down to the beach.
