The Granary is a beautifully restored stone barn conversion in the heart of the Devon countryside finished to a high standard in 2014. The well-equipped accommodation oozes character and charm with the benefit of an outdoor hot tub in the enclosed gardens. The Muddiford village inn, just under a mile and a half down the road, has a popular bar and restaurant. There are many activities available nearby including horse riding, shooting and fishing in addition to countryside rambles or days on the beach. The Granary boasts an impressive vaulted ceiling complemented by exposed oak beams with a mixture of slate and oak flooring providing an exceptional living area. The well-equipped cream kitchen features a Butler sink and Juliette balcony which overlooks the sheltered walled garden, with stunning countryside views. The spacious patio area and lawned garden is ideal for a barbecue with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. Inside there is an oak dining table and the lounge area has sumptuous reclining leather seats. The solid wooden staircase leads down to the bedrooms at each end of the barn, both with en-suite bathrooms. On this lower level, three sets of doors open onto the patio. The outdoor hot tub is sure to prove a favourite throughout the year. Exmoor National Park is close by and a short drive takes you to the golden beaches and rugged coastline of North Devon. The Granary can be a superb holiday headquarters for couples, friends and family. The neighbouring farm is home to a collection of vintage tractors which the owners' father is happy to show guests. It is a working farm and from time to time the adjacent yard is used for loading and unloading.

Really lovely location - very quiet and never any noise noticed from the neighbouring farm! The garden was very secure for our large dog and toddler, the hot tub was ready to go as soon as we arrived which was lovely. The inside space was lovely, very light, and a well equipped kitchen means you can cook pretty much anything (after a quick visit Read moreto a local shop). Hide

We really enjoyed our stay at The Granary. It was a lovely secluded location. Despite it being on a working farm, we weren't bothered by any noise and everyone seemed friendly who we saw. The farm dogs were especially friendly. It was a really lovely place to take dogs, our 2 dogs really enjoyed the space and the secluded garden was perfect. TRead morehe hot tub was a lovely treat and the upside down style holiday home meant you could quickly jump into a nice warm shower on exiting the hot tub. The bathrooms were lovely and clean as were the bedrooms. Comfy beds and cosy feel throughout the home. We really enjoyed our stay and it was perfect for relaxing and spending time together. Thank you so much! Hide

First impressions is that its a great holiday venue. Its location is exactly where we like, and we've stayed in this area a number of times too. However, this property is in dire need of some love and attention from the owners, especially at the premium that is being paid. There were way too many stained water markings on walls and ceilings - a sigRead moren of old maintenance issues that still havent been painted over. The lovely looking external doors dont sit correctly in their frames, leaving to drafty gaps in the bedrooms. The ensuites are both internal (ie do not have an external wall for a window) and so suffer hard with shower damp as there is little ventilation, especially with one extractor fan being broken for our stay. bathroom mirrors look very trendy, but dont work - bad electricals led to lights flickering dangerously, considering they're in a foggy damp ensuite. There is a BBQ emplacement in the pictures and description - a key requirement for us on our property searches, and yet its simply an empty brick BBQ zone with bars to place a BBQ if you have one. We didnt, so had to grill our planned BBQ meal, not great, not premium. There is also no drying rack/clothes horse in the property to dry out clothing over night. pack one, or be prepared to use the drier overnight, which is loud. Hot tub in the garden was awesome though - the cleanest we've ever enjoyed at a holiday property. Overall, it did its job and housed us for a week, but not value for money without some proper love, care and attention being paid back into the property from the owners. Hide

If you want a location which is tranquil, away from the noise and bustle then this is it.The Granary. Access is from a lovely winding scenic track full of ferns and trees with birds aplenty. The property was spotlessly clean with a welcoming bottle of wine and chocolates.loved by the girls. The upstairs spacious kitchen and living area workRead moreed really well and offered a great view of the garden and valley. Bedrooms were spacious with en-suite showers and toilet. Access to the garden is from a corridor between the bedrooms so you dont disturb others. The garden was perfect secure and plenty big enough for our two dogs. The hot tub was well maintained and kept clean, also the hot outdoor shower was perfect for washing the dogs down after fun on the beach ( Saunton beach.perfect for dogs too ). The Granary ticked all the boxes for us. Highly recommended A+++++++ Hide
