What a beautifully built, equipped and located cottage. We couldnt fault it! The owners, who are incredibly warm and welcoming, have thought of everything! The drive along the dirt track for 1.8 miles is fun and quite an experience! It was a great base to explore the area but nobody gets anywhere quickly! A very sympathetic and tasteful modernisation has converted The Bryer into a wonderful holiday cottage. Although accessed directly off an existing farmyard opposite the owner's house, the property is very private as the main aspect opens up in the opposite direction onto fields and small vineyard, with extensive views beyond of the Rother Valley. TRead morehe property is very comfortable, clean and well equipped, and the owners are very welcoming and helpful. The access road is gravel for about a mile off Hobbs Lane, on the outskirts of Beckley, but once on the main road through the village there are many interesting places to visit within easy driving distance - Great Dixter, Sissinghurst Castle, Scotney Castle, Battle Abbey and the Kent and East Sussex Heritage Railway to name but a few. For a first time visit to East Sussex it couldn't be better. Hide

Very nice hosts, who made us very welcome. The location was very peaceful and the feeling of being in the countryside and on a farm brings you closer to nature. All in all, it was a good experience spending time together with the family, not worrying about the home chores and the list of things that need to be done. Very peaceful and we were ableRead more to work out our outings at our pace in the local sight-seeing in the villages and the coast. My batteries are definitely recharged and I am looking forward to planning for the next year's break. Hide
