Tidal View sits on high ground on the edge of Appledore commanding tidal views. It looks across the Taw and Torridge Estuary towards Instow and along the coast to Saunton and beyond. The property is bright throughout with large windows and light contemporary decor. Picture windows make the best of the stunning views from all angles. Patio doors lead out from the lounge on to a ramp, which leads to the patio and well kept garden. At the front of the property there is a newly laid, gravel resin driveway. Four bedrooms give flexible sleeping arrangements and there is level access to the house, throughout the lower ground floor and including a double bedroom with a low level shower in the en-suite, making the home well suited for guests with limited mobility. The en-suite also features bath and the bedroom has doors out to the garden. On the ground floor, there are three more bedrooms including one with en-suite facilities, and a family bathroom. An integral garage is available for storage of surfboards and bikes. A steep walk down the hill takes you to village. Appledore quayside has a small range of pubs, shops and galleries. A seasonal ferry takes passengers to the pretty little village of Instow across the estuary, with its sheltered stretch of sandy beach, 17th century pier and cosmopolitan yacht club. Historically celebrated for its artists and craftspeople the village now boasts an arts festival and the Appledore Crafts Company, an artist’s co-operative showcasing a broad range of arts and crafts from ceramics and photography to jewellery and painting. There are pleasant walks along the sunny, south-facing quay and along the river towards Bideford and Westward Ho! A short drive east takes you to Barnstaple, which is the commercial and agricultural centre of North Devon. It is a charming place that comfortably blends a handsome past with an energetic, present-day buzz. It has a mix of cutting-edge retail outlets, long-established family owned stores and little boutiques

I was very disappointed with the level of cleanliness particularly the badly stained mattress cover in the master bedroom. It is very off putting. The general condition of the property is very poor i.e. the cooker grill was not usable as the control knob was broken. The bedside lamp was tapped with electrical tape which was hanging off. The shower Read morehead in the disabled shower was covered in thick black mould. It is a great shame to see the sorry state of this property given that it is in a nice location. I would not stay here again. Hide

A lovely property with amazing views and in a great location for exploring North Devon. Plenty of pubs to choose from, all seem to be dog friendly too as were the beaches. We would definitely stay here again.

The views are amazing and the cottage is lovely. Our only problems was with the toilet being too low in the disabled shower room and it was hard to get in the patio doors with a wheelchair due to the threshold height, especially as it leads off a wheelchair ramp.

We have been staying at Tidal View every summer for 4 years and have booked again for next summer. The location is perfect with amazing vistas of the estuary and the village, we never tire of the views. The beds are comfy and main bathroom all the family enjoys using. There is parking for two cars off street which is great too.

This the most amazing bungalow and perfect for multi generational families. I have been with 2 such groups and both have already booked next year's stays. Stunning views and it's so quiet at night you can hear the Oyster catchers in the estuary.

The cottage was perfect for our family group. The views from the windows are breathtaking. There is a steep hill to the village but most of our group managed it. Appledore is such a beautiful place

Excellent property that is very clean. Plenty of space for everyone with beautiful views across to Instow and down into Appledore. Well kitted out kitchen with a good size fridge freezer and range cooker. Very steep walk down to the village centre. This is no problem for anyone with good mobility, but would be extremely challenging for pushchaRead moreirs or the infirm. The bungalow itself is well arranged for anyone with mobility issues just be aware you will need to use the car when leaving the property. The garden is divided into two parts allowing you to keep dogs and young children safe or separate. Appledore is a short walk away and has some excellent places to eat and watch the world go by. Absolutely loved the bungalow, Appledore and Instow. Hide
