Owned by a family who has been in the town’s china, hardware and outfitting trade for nearly 100 years, The Edwardian House has been passed down from generation to generation and now provides a stunning home-from-home holiday experience for eight people. A magnificent entrance hall with period floor tiles and a display of some of the family’s fine collection of china, leads into the living room which has a grand piano, plenty of comfortable seating and a high ceiling. A separate dining room at the back of the house has a huge formal dining table, capable of seating ten people; whilst the modern fitted kitchen has a central breakfast bar and plenty of kitchen storage space. Next to the kitchen is a pantry, utility room and shower room providing space for a washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there are four large bedrooms, all with decorative ornate fireplaces and a mix of artwork and historical prints which can be bought as holiday souvenirs. These rooms share the use of a family bathroom, separate shower room and an additional cloakroom. Outside, there is sufficient off-road parking for three cars, a lovely mature lawn garden with greenhouse, a storage shed, picnic table and additional chairs, a barbecue and rotary clothes dryer. The Edwardian House is not too far from the centre of Ilfracombe with its delightful mix of Victorian and Regency architecture, pretty harbour, independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs.
