The mock Tudor style of building is now the hallmark of Thorpeness, where the amenities include the Dolphin Inn, the Thorpeness Hotel with its 18-hole golf club, a country club with tennis courts and the Meare - a large shallow boating lake with tearooms nearby. The beaches are mainly shingle and behind the village is a myriad of footpaths over heath and common land.

We came back for another birthday. Sleeping wise certainly sleeps 12. Always hot water Courtyard big enough to relax outside fur coffee and breakfast outside would have been lovely. Nice and warm inside after a breezy beach walk. Aldeburgh close enough to walk to and Thorpeness is always lovely.

Nice location, well fitted out and great central point for exploring Suffolk eepseicslly the coast. Only downside was noise - internal and external. Internally doesnt seem to be any floor insulation so when anyone moved about on floor above sounded like a herd of elephants. Unfortunately, neighbours (no 6) were out to midnight each night making noiRead morese which made it difficult to sleep/have windows open. Impact compounded by the fact that they are terraced properties. Hide

We very much enjoyed staying in this house in Thorpeness, which has lots of space and is nicely done up and very clean in appearance - it has views of the sea and the Country Club tennis courts and parking was never and issue. The beds had nice linen, and there was adequate sofa seating in the sitting room for our large group, as well as a nice biRead moreg dining table around which to eat. Hide

Ideally situated right opposite the lake. Just round a corner to the beach. Comfortable house. But only 2 showers. Lovely little back garden. My grandchildren loved running around and playing tennis which can be seen in the back garden.
