Lovely cottage, in a wonderful location. Only downside was the uncomfortable beds, very hard! Having read previous reviews, glad I took a mattress topper just in case! Rest of property comfortable, with a well catered for kitchen.

The cottage is in a lovely location and the pub nearby was super. The cottage is old and homely. HOWEVER it is tired and neglected. The upstairs bedroom had in excess of 40 dead flies in it and plenty of live ones, plus a lovely collection of ladybirds. The remote controls for the tv etc did not all have batteries in them. Cupboards were full of Read morerandom old stuff including alcohol bottles etc. we contacted Holiday cottages as the cottage should have been decorated for Christmas and was not, albeit the reason behind it was very understandable and a reasonable solution was agreed Hide

Great location, house is unloved and beds are in urgent need or replacing, general air of neglect, cottage is up for sale and it shows. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We can confirm that we will discuss this with the owner to ensure the issue you raise are addressed.

A group of friends staying in Dunwich for the weekend and this was the perfect location. The property was very comfortable and very warm - which for an old property was a pleasant surprise. The heating was still needed as mornings / evenings were still a little chilly. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. And Read morewe all agreed that the living room was very cosy in the evenings.. There are steep stairs but there is bedroom (2) / bathroom accommodation on the ground floor so this shouldn't cause a problem. Brilliant outside space as well.. And we all loved the characteristics of such an old house with all the beams and slopping floors... A very unique property and would definitely recommend staying here... Oh, and just across the road from Dunwich beach and a lovely pub a few steps away.. Everything you need... Hide

Ideal location for the beach and lovely walks. Lovely courtyard garden which is quite the suntrap. And lovely views of Dunwich beach from the frost rooms. Be aware of the house and bedroom layout when booking to see if it meets your needs.

What a gorgeous cottage! We were so lucky with the weather too. The beach is just a few minutes walk and you can see the sea and the marshes from the lovely lounge window. The sofas were really comfy and the kitchen well stocked. The courtyard garden had sun most of the day and had masses of seating. Cottage location is hard to beat and the short wRead morealk to Greyfriars in the evening was so peaceful. We even saw scarlet tiger moths in the churchyard and it was possible to watch the marsh harrier from the lounge/main bedroom - we didn't though as we spent most of the days outside :) There are three different places to eat in the adorable village and the museum and Ship Inn are both fabulous and just three doors down! Walks everywhere! Gorgeous in every way and mum had the best birthday yet (this one was her 80th!) Hard to beat. Hide
