This charming cottage has been converted from an old farm building and retains much of its old character with exposed beams throughout. Enjoying a very peaceful position, adjacent to the owner's house, the cottage is surrounded by open farmland over which there are superb, extensive views. The hamlet of Stittenham is an ideal base for exploring North Yorkshire close to the spectacular Castle Howard (location of Brideshead Revisited) just a few miles away, and the city of York, North York Moors and Yorkshire coast all within easy reach. The cottage has been given a four star rating by Visit England.

ALL THE ACCOMMODATION IS ON THE GROUND FLOOR:
Lounge/Diner: Electric fire, Smart TV, Radio/CD player, dining table and chairs and sofa bed.
Kitchen: Cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, freezer and fridge.
Bedroom 1: Double bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe, dressing table. Patio doors lead onto the small patio.
En suite: Shower, toilet and washbasin.
Bedroom 2: Twin beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers.
Bathroom: Bath, separate shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin.

Pets: By arrangement please. 
Parking: Ample parking.
Garden: Patio and garden with furniture and BBQ.
Heating: Electric fire, underfloor heating throughout, electric heated towel rail in bathroom.
Short breaks: Not accepted at peak times.
Shop and Pub: 3 miles.

Beautiful setting and lovely cottage. So peaceful. The cottage has underfloor heating and heats up very well and quickly. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

Beautiful place, clean and comfortable. The pictures on the website don't do it justice, the property is very big with lots of outside space to enjoy. Great location for visiting lots of sites of interest in Yorkshire. Would highly recommend.

We had an amazing week staying at West Mill Cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and very well equipped. It was lovely to arrive and receive a gorgeous welcome basket and have fresh flowers. It was lovely to see the owner pop by a few times to make sure we were okay and had everything we needed. I will miss the views and watching the horses. TRead morehis Cottage is well located to explore York and areas of the Moors and coast. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in future. Hide

Lovely property in a quiet rural location. Warm and well equipped with great views. Good base from which to drive and explore the surrounding towns and attractions of Yorkshire.

The cottage was immaculate and very warm and cosy. Kitchen was well equipped and beds very comfortable. The location was great and within easy reach of many local attractions. We enjoyed making friends with the horses in the adjacent fields. The only downside was having to keep the dogs on a lead when outside as there is no fenced garden. StandingRead more outside in the rain early in the morning and late at night wasnt much fun! I would definitely recommend this property but with a note to dog owners. Hide

Beautiful cottage in a very picturesque area, it has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. Ideally located with a short drive to York and less than an hour to the East Coast. Would highly recommend.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful and peaceful location, but with easy access to many attractions. The property was spotlessly clean, spacious and well equipped. Perfect host, meeting us on arrival, checking in on us during the week to check everything was okay, but then leaving us in peace to enjoy our stay, until coming to say goodbye before we left.Read more Hide
