A spacious timber bungalow on the Ballard Estate north of the town, situated on the cliff top, with stunning views over Swanage Bay towards Peveril Point, the Isle of Wight and Ballard Downs. The beach is a few minutes walk, reached via a pathway and steps down the cliff and accessed from the side of the bungalow.

There is a local shop/newsagents five minutes from the property and the main shops in Swanage town centre are a twenty minute walk along the Seafront.

Swanage Town is a traditional seaside location - with its sandy beaches and plentiful opportunities to indulge in the best local ice creams! Children and adults alike can enjoy spending hours exploring the rock pools by the Victorian Pier and roaming the paths at Durlston Country Park.

Further afield you can spend the day taking in other local attractions such as the Sealife Centre at Weymouth, The Tank Museum at Bovington and Studland Beach. At the end of a busy day you can relax and plan the net days adventure.

Not easy to drive to - if you have a large car I suggest you walk to the cottage first and have a look! First impressions are not good - stick with it. The woodwork is fascinating. The view makes up for every shortcoming. Good access to Swanage along beach (if you can clamber over barriers) - watch tides.

We have been coming to 22 Ballard Estate for many years and love its location and views. Like us, it is beginning to show its age and needs some love and attention paid to it. Though we miss the corner shop and the steps down to the beach, we shall no doubt continue to book it on an annual basis !

This is such a unique house. Its spacious, friendly feeling and the pull to just sit and gaze at the sea is almost overwhelming! We love it.

The cottage had stunning views. Beds and settees comfortable but we found the kitchen needed a thorough clean.

We absolutely love this house and are returning in September. Its not all shiny and new(thank goodness!) but is clean and big and has everything you need for a relaxed family holiday.

Great location. Dated property in need of restoration ( but not viable ) Full of character and charm. Have visited for many years with hopefully many more to come. Always a pleasure to be there to relex and enjoy the Purbeck area. Always good suport from Original Cottages.

After the first impressions of it being very dated we did warm to the property especially with the fabulous view. Ripped wallpaper over fire in lounge not acceptable. We wouldn't stay again

Just returned from a lovely week in Swanage staying at 22 Ballard Estate. Lovely property, like stepping back in time. Wonderful location, very peaceful with a fabulous view.

The views are very pleasant and location was good unfortunately storm damage meant we couldn't use the beach access by the house. The parking was not good think it was only for one vehicle hard to get 2 suv's in . The property needs some upgrading and modernisation. We did make some lovely family memories there lots of room for children to Read morerun in the garden which our granddaughter loved and watching the boats and ferries go pass. Hide

I love this place. Its spacious with lots to do and the beach and good walking is near. The beds are comfy. Its a step back in time but with everything you need in the present day. We love it.

We stay at this property every year. Great location and accommodation. Old property in need of much work and maintenance but this probably not viable. It is of period construction and great charm.
