Ellers Close is a beautiful stone built semi-detached property offering plenty of character. Set in a peaceful location and with it's own garden this cottage offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for 4 people. Ellers Close is one of four dwellings which made up Ellers Farm, with the main farm house being built in 1850. Situated in the Loughrigg and Skelwith Bridge area Ellers Close is close to the town of Ambleside, where you have a choice of shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy. Skelwith Bridge, Elterwater and Chapel Stile are also great spots to visit locally, and offer amenities such as pubs, cafes and a local shop too. There are many walks and bike rides direct from the doorstep of this house, so you certainly won't run out of places to explore on your holiday. Loughrigg Tarn is easily accessible, and you can go a little further to explore Grasmere and the rest of the Langdale Valleys.

The front door into Ellers Close leads into the kitchen where you will find a well equipped and recently updated space. Equipment includes ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge with freezer section, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining room is spacious with it's own log burner and dining seating for 4 people. Moving through the house Ellers Close offers a spacious lounge with high ceilings and fabulous views facing south and the garden. There is an open fire in the lounge which is great for the colder months, making the lounge cosy and homely while you relax with a book, watching TV or playing cards. Upstairs from the dining room you will find two comfortable single bedrooms and a large double room with king size bed, all with their own storage and comfortable beds. The family bathroom with shower over bath, WC and sink has been recently refurbished.

Outside the property Ellers Close has its own private, enclosed and large garden with different areas of lawn, seating and a small stream running through it too. You can explore the secret, winding path which climbs upwards to the top of the garden, which is a great spot for a morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening. There is private off road parking for 2 cars.

Wifi is provided for guest use. 2 well behaved pets welcome.

N.B. There's a lovely water feature in the garden at Ellers Close, however because this is located within the lawn area, please ensure children are supervised when playing.

This is a traditional and well maintained family holiday home in the best senses. There's a large double bedroom and two good singles. There are lovely views and a beautiful garden with a stream. The road is very quiet, and the cottage is warm with central heating (we went in March with all the daffodils out) and has the bonus of wood fired stoves.Read more The furnishing is traditional but comfortable and everything is well looked after. There's lots of local books, guides and maps to browse and games in the cupboard. Internet was fine; there was some mobile coverage but not very reliable. Kitchen is well equipped and its easy to cook as much as you want (induction hob, microwave). We went for day long walks from the cottage without using the car, or Ambleside is only a short drive. We would certainly happily return, as clearly many people have done over the years. Hide

Great cottage in excellent location for walkers. Some walks straight from door whilst Langdale Valley is only a 10 min drive. The cottage is well equipped throughout, especially the kitchen, the only thing it lacks is a tumble dryer. Lounge furniture and beds all very comfy and shower is excellent, powerful and hot. Gardens are a true delight, ouRead morer dog loved cooling off in the small stream. We will be booking again for next year. Hide

What a delightful cottagel Very homely atmosphere with beautiful local pictures amidst more personal ones dotted around. Tasteful carpets at the same time as being sensible for a holiday cottage! Clearly people have loved coming on holiday here for years and the owners have had many returning guests - unsurprisingly. Very spacious house. Sheets aRead morend bedding exceedingly comfortable. Warm! Great to have a nice shower and bath with hot water never running out! The location could not have been better with a most beautiful (and secure) garden with "rooms", a variety of plants and trees and birds. Great to have a secure place for our dog who loved it. Small little stream in garden so you can hear the gentle burbling of the brook. Set just in front of Loughrigg Fell with with the bonus of a 5 minute walk to the Tarn where you can swim in the clear clean water; only a 10 minute drive to Ambleside - a peaceful iddylic setting which made for a memorable holiday. A special thing too to gaze at the stars so clearly at night without any light pollution to blot their view. We'd definitely come again but realise we'd have to book very early so as not to be disappointed. Thank you! Hide
