Mayflower cottage is perfect for your seaside escape at any time of the year.  This beautifully presented and well equipped holiday cottage comes with a pretty south-facing garden and private parking, much sought after in Aldeburgh.

This delightful holiday cottage is situated on Church Farm, an award winning development at the northern end of Aldeburgh, one of the most picturesque seaside towns along the Suffolk coast.

The boutiques, cafes and shops of Aldeburgh High Street are just a 7-minute walk away from Mayflower Cottage, and you certainly won't need the car for a daytrip to Thorpeness, just take a stroll along the beach (which is just 5-minutes away on foot), admiring 'The Scallop', an iconic sculpture by Maggi Hambling, dedicated to local composer Benjamin Britten, along the way.

The lounge at Mayflower Cottage is a warm and inviting room, with soft colours and character wood burner (ideal for those cosy winter nights in front of the fire), whilst the dining room which adjoins the tasteful shaker-style kitchen has double patio doors leading to a pretty south-facing garden, perfect for summer evenings. There's even a BBQ provided for your use.

Upstairs are three well-appointed bedrooms; a double (with super-king size bed), a twin (two single beds) and a single, each with a coastal theme, plus a spacious family bathroom –perfect for a seaside holiday in Suffolk. Shop: 500 yards Pub: 500 yards.

Why we Love This Property
Mayflower Cottage has been furnished with love and care by its owners and their attention to detail is evident throughout.  Games, binoculars, and even crabbing nets are provided for guests to use and are a really lovely touch to this charming holiday cottage.

Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten, who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival, which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Mayflower Cottage was spotlessly clean and in a great location. We loved walking to the town or to Thorpeness along the sea front. The welcome pack was a nice touch.

Thank you for making our stay in Mayflower Cottage so comfortable. It was our first visit to Suffolk and I'm sure won't be the last but to have a "Home from Home", so comfortable quiet and relaxing certainly made the holiday. With the comfortable furniture and soft white bath towels it clearly shows that the owner wants to share their home ratherRead more than just make money out of rentals. The welcome hamper was generous and thoughtful, as was the fresh cut flowers and flowers in pots in the garden ( I did water them best I could ). We had a lovely week with high temperatures so it was good to come back to somewhere that you could open the windows and doors for a cooling breeze. It really did feel like home. Everywhere we went in Suffolk it was very clean with no rubbish, everybody was very friendly and seemed to be happy. Roads are good and certainly better than what you find in Cornwall. You need to download a variety of parking apps though because few car parks take cash and for some reason can't get together to use only one parking company even though some places have no mobile signal. Aldeburgh is lovely and the beach is visited mostly by locals, I suspect much to their pleasure because it is really nice, clean and covered by tiny pebbles. Here there is very little parking which maybe is why. The Lighthouse restaurant is excellent and would like to visit every night if the menu changed more frequently. Places like Friday Street, although on first look are appealing are really over priced and over hyped with very little local produce and staff who don't know about the origin of the produce. Even M&S can trace produce back to the farm. Or don't they want you to know? Hide

What a lovely spot! Mayflower Cottage is very well appointed and we had a lovely visit. No complaints whatsoever. We enjoyed our visit with local family and things could not have been much better. We visit annually from Canada and plan to stay here again. Thank you for the welcome basket of goodies, and such a comfortable stay after a long trip.
