An enticing, single-storey cottage close to the Moray Firth, this special Scottish hideaway is a true year-round gem. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom property, which is 1.5 miles from the centre of Nairn, is set in beautiful gardens, with a leisure barn and hot tub, and also comes with a woodburner for the colder months. Pack a beach bag and stroll just 0.5 miles through the owners’ private grounds opposite to find yourselves on the spectacular white sands of Nairn Beach. There are also trails through Culbin Forest. Venture 4 miles by car to the picturesque Secret Beach, where you can potter in rockpools and keep your eyes open for bottlenose dolphins. Spend time in colourful Nairn, meandering through the shops and dining out. Visit medieval Cawdor Castle and its beautiful gardens, 7 miles away. Take time out to see the National Trust’s historic Culloden Battlefield, 12.5 miles away.

Make your way inside to find accommodation with an abundance of character and style. Unlace your walking boots and hang your jackets in the small porch before heading on in to make yourselves at home in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its exposed stonework and double-sided woodburner. Recline on the large sofa in the lounge as you soak up the glowing heat and flick through the channels on the Smart TV. Alternatively, enjoy the crackling flames from the kitchen side as you prepare fresh Scottish salmon for your lunch. Dine at the long table with the French doors open to the garden on summer days. A handy utility room houses a WC and all your laundry facilities. At the end of each day away in the Highlands, rest your head on the plump pillows of one of the three inviting bedrooms. These include a super-king-size, with an en-suite shower room and zip-and-link beds that can be made into a twin on request. There is also a twin, with zip-and-link beds, and a king-size. The family bathroom has a large walk-in shower and a gorgeous roll-top bath. Please note there are a few steps within the cottage.

The generous, enclosed garden is ideal for soaking up the serenity and the scenery of the setting. Relax on the patio, cook on the BBQ and dine out in the fresh air or under cover of the leisure barn, where there is a drinks fridge and a hot tub.
