Whether you’re a solo traveller or a couple looking for outdoor adventures, this traditional stone cottage is a welcoming base for exploring the natural beauty of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. The cottage sits on the fringes of Ffestiniog, less than a mile from the village pub and within 3 miles of Blaenau Ffestiniog, the former slate capital of the world. Today, the town is known for its adventure activities, from soaring through the valley on Zip World Titan to exploring the underground Bounce Below trampolines and Llechwedd’s deep mine. Mountain bikers can tackle the trails at Antur Stiniog (4 miles), while the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways wind through the spectacular landscape to Porthmadog and the coast. Visit the Italianate-style village of Portmeirion, majestic Harlech Castle, or the attractive village of Betws-y-Coed (all within 15 miles). Closer to home, wonderful walks and a fairytale waterfall are just steps from your door.
Follow the stone steps up to the entrance porch, which offers space to kick off walking shoes and hang coats. Walk through to the social heart of the home: the open-plan living space, which combines a sleek kitchen and a cosy lounge. Here, exposed ceiling beams blend with crisp white walls and a range of modern comforts to create a relaxing retreat. Unwind in the lounge after days of national park adventure; sink into the soft seating, browse the Smart TV, and bask in the glow of the wood burner-effect electric fire. When stomachs rumble, the kitchen boasts everything needed for a self-catered stay, and a table set beside the window. Completing the ground floor is a smart bathroom with a shower over the bath. At the end of each day away, follow the cottage stairs to the first floor and discover a generous bedroom. This spacious room features a queen-size bed, a Smart TV for lazy mornings, and a scenic sitting area with views across the national park.
Outside, find a choice of front and rear gardens, allowing you to catch the sun throughout the day. To the front, a patio features bistro-style furniture, perfect for morning coffees. To the rear, a furnished decked area boasts mountain views, offering the ideal spot for al fresco meals and relaxation. Completing the offering is on-street parking for two cars outside the cottage.
