The Eskdale Trail follows the same route, so you could take your bike on board and cycle back to the cottage. Keen walkers can enjoy a hike to Stanley Ghyll Waterfall (4.5 miles), while seasoned climbers will relish the challenge of Scafell Pike, 9 miles away. If you’re looking for a beach day or strolls in the fresh sea air, head to the pretty coastal village of Seascale, 8 miles from the cottage.
