Set among the countryside of West Wight, this inviting cottage is well placed for exploring both coast and country. Start with a visit to Tapnell Farm (1 mile), where families can enjoy the farm park and a range of activities. Head into the harbour town of Yarmouth (3 miles) to browse independent shops and galleries, stop for lunch in one of the pubs or cafés, or wander along the pier and watch the boats come and go. For a day by the sea, the sheltered shore of Colwell Bay (4 miles) is within easy reach, while Freshwater Bay (5 miles) is a lovely starting point for coastal walks. Continue west to The Needles and Alum Bay (6 miles) for some of the island’s best-known coastal scenery, or set out on foot to explore the surrounding countryside and quiet lanes.
Inside, the cottage has a relaxed, homely feel, with an open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner forming the main living space. The kitchen is well equipped, with plenty of room to gather around the dining table for breakfast or supper. Comfortable seating provides a spot to settle down in the evening, while the separate snug is ideal for anyone wanting a little extra space to read, watch the Smart TV or relax. Head upstairs to find three bedrooms. There is a king-size bedroom, a twin with zip-and-link bed that can be made up as a king on request, and a bunk bedroom that’s ideal for children. The family bathroom is also on this floor, with a separate WC making busy mornings a little easier.
Outside, there is space to sit and enjoy the fresh air and rural surroundings. Private parking is available for two cars. Please note: the cottage sits by a main road, however, it enjoys a peaceful rural setting surrounded by countryside.
