This charming country lodge feels wonderfully unique, offering a private setting in an elevated position, with views and access to acres of private woodland. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to get back to basics and revel in nature. The beautiful Malvern Hills lie to the south (8.5 miles), offering great walking and views, while the thriving Georgian market town of Bewdley is 8 miles north. Worcester (13 miles), Tenbury Wells (12 miles), and Stourport-on-Severn (6 miles) offer a range of shopping, sightseeing and eateries. Families – or just the young at heart – will love the animals, attractions and rides of the West Midlands Safari Park (10 miles); or hopping on a steam train on the Severn Valley Railway (8.5 miles), covering a 16-mile stretch through lovely Worcestershire and Shropshire countryside. Discover the beauty of local National Trust properties at the Brockhampton Estate (12 miles) or Croome Court (21 miles).

You can access the private woodland directly from the cabin, so there’s interest all year round – from bluebells in spring to colourful leaves in autumn. Enter this single-storey cabin through the front door into the hallway. On one side lies the generous open-plan living space with a cosy lounge area, complete with a wood burner and TV for snuggling up on cooler evenings, plus a dining table and a well-equipped kitchen to the rear. On the other side of the hallway, you’ll find the double and twin bedrooms offering stunning woodland views for a wonderfully relaxing vibe. The stylish shower room with a double shower sits at the end of this long hall.

Double doors open from the lounge area onto one of two terraces, both offering a table and chairs for dining or simply taking in the wonderful views, sights and sounds. From here, guests are free to explore the acres of woodlands, with a trail taking you to the top of the hill and opening up to stunning views across the Worcestershire countryside. There are a couple of wildlife lakes to enjoy along this route, too. Private, off-road parking for three cars adds to this superb retreat.

What a wonderful setting for a quiet and peaceful break in the countryside. We enjoyed a lovely week at the Pickle House and were lucky to have good weather. From the house you can watch the squirrels and birds and look out for deer. The private woods are great for exploring with lots of different paths, children would love it! The woodburner makesRead more the house very cosy along with the eclectic furnishings. Places to visit include Whitley Court, gardens and cafe and the Malvern Hills for walking, Wyre Forest, Worcester and the river walk and the Morgan Car factory tour in Great Malvern. Many thanks Georgina and Sue for a very relaxing holiday. Hide
