You’ll find the park perched on the edge of the River Hodder, promising slow, peaceful walks along the riverside footpath and endless wildlife to spot along the way. The country park is home to a café, walking trails and an on-site farm, where wild boar, goats and pigs are ready to say hello before you set off on your hike. Nearby Chipping (2.5 miles) is a quiet, traditional Lancashire village with a country pub and farm shop. Set off from here on a circular walk up Parlick Hill (5 miles), admiring the sweeping views of the Ribble Valley from the summit.
This couples-only cottage has been thoughtfully designed with homely comforts and a contemporary edge, all set out on one storey for effortless navigation. The property centres around the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a restful space with a high-spec kitchen, dining table for two and a plush L-shaped sofa to settle into at the end of each day. When it’s cold outside, the wood burner and TV create the perfect setting for cosy evenings in. The en-suite bathroom sits just next door and features a walk-in shower, his & her basins and WC, and there’s a family bathroom in the property as well.
