A converted farm steading, this homely hideaway, located in a serene rural location, a stone’s throw from the town of Kirkcudbright, offers couples and families a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The local area is renowned for its stunning landscapes, home to sandy beaches and the Galloway Forest Park (21 miles), Britain’s first Dark Sky Park, with extensive walking and mountain bike trails. Kirkcudbright (1 mile) boasts a working harbour and a thriving centre for arts and crafts, home to numerous galleries, as well as a great selection of independent shops and eateries. The town is also home to the Dark Sky Gin Distillery, the Dark Sky Planetarium and the Station House Cookery School, which offers various courses throughout the year. Keen outdoor explorers can head to the Galloway Activity Centre, 19 miles away, on Loch Ken, with offers of both land and water-based activities.

Beneath the rustic exposed stone exterior, you’ll find that this former farm steading has been refurbished into a wonderfully cosy retreat that welcomes weary walkers to relax. The light-filled lounge/diner enjoys a beautifully soothing neutral colour palette which perfectly complements the rolling green views that surround you. A lovely set of French doors leads out to the galley-style kitchen, which enjoys a chic, country cottage aesthetic that’ll inspire you to get creative with your tasty local produce. Sharing the same peaceful ambience and quaint character as the rest of this bolthole, the blissful king-size bedroom and twin zip-and-link bedroom promise a peaceful rest. Offering true versatility, the twin zip-and-link bedroom can be converted into a super-king-size if required. Enjoying a sleek, contemporary finish, the family bathroom provides everything you need to freshen up.

Outside, soak up your stunningly peaceful setting by enjoying alfresco drinks around the picnic bench in the garden area, which features an unenclosed lawn and patio. The delightful hot tub adds a touch of pure sophistication. There is private parking available for two cars.
