Offering cosy, light and characterful accommodation for up to eight guests, this delightful cottage has been sympathetically updated to make a fantastic holiday home for groups of friends and larger families discovering an idyllic corner of southern Scotland. Lying at the head of the Tweed Valley, this beautiful area offers miles of spellbinding hill walks and opportunities for fishing, mountain biking, golf and birdwatching. Climbers can venture up Broad Law Hill (5 miles), offering a magnificent panoramic view of the Borders region. The picturesque town of Peebles is to the north-east (23 miles), home to landmarks and attractions including Neidpath Castle, Glentress Forest and the Kailzie Estate. Biggar is to the north-west (13 miles), with fascinating museums and some great places to eat and drink. Also nearby are Dawyck Botanic Garden, Broughtonknowe Wood and Tall Reservoir, all within 13 miles.

Situated within the bounds of the beautiful Hearthstanes estate, this thoughtfully updated cottage features a fresh and light-filled lounge/diner providing a charming space for everyone to settle back and unwind in after a fabulous day discovering the Borders. The cheery lounge features plush seating and a TV, and the stylishly arranged dining area is perfect for enjoying a celebratory meal together which you can rustle up in the fully equipped galley kitchen. The ground floor also has a handy WC. Upstairs, you will have choice of three warmly decorated bedrooms: two delightful twin rooms and a cosy double, each with invigorating en-suite facilities. Please note the first floor has some sloping ceilings and restricted head height.

Going outside, ample garden furniture provides an ideal spot for a BBQ on a sunny afternoon. The steading features a shared games room with a fully computerised ten-pin bowling alley, available by arrangement and at an extra charge. Much of the estate is part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest, with a wealth of wildlife to spot. The estate is also powered by a private hydro scheme installed more than 30 years ago. Exploring the shared grounds of the estate, please be aware that there are two ponds and a stream, with trout fishing on request. A convenient laundry room is shared with the neighbouring cottages. Bike storage is available and there’s parking in the shared courtyard for two cars.
