Lace up your walking boots and begin the 2-mile trek to nearby Dhoon Beach (4 miles), a sandy bay on the edge of the River Dee. This dog-friendly spot is sheltered, great for picnics and features unique rock pools with fascinating formations. A short distance away, the town of Castle Douglas (10 miles) is a must-visit for foodies, well known for its quality eateries and shops filled with local produce.

Enter the living room with its ornamental feature fireplace, soft seating and a Smart TV – a fantastic place to while away relaxing evenings. Modern appliances make cooking a breeze, and there’s space for eight to dine with ease. This room blends effortlessly into the contemporary conservatory, a secondary lounge space with a wood burner and lovely garden views. Completing this floor, the first of four bedrooms sits beside a handy downstairs WC. The bedroom features a zip-and-link bed that can be made up as a twin or a super-king-size, as required. Upstairs, another bedroom shares this flexible layout, ideal for two guests. The remaining bedrooms consist of two king-size rooms, each decorated in a soft, pretty colour scheme. Two bathrooms create plenty of space for getting ready each morning – one with a bath and the other with a walk-in shower. Completing the property’s offering, an endearing playroom sits at the very top of the property on the second floor. Featuring plenty of toys and games, a football table and a TV, this space is fantastic for kids (and the young at heart).

House was well maintained and very comfortable. Situated in the heart of Kirkcudbright it was ideal for visiting shops and restaurants. Also took advantage of the local swimming pool, which was extremely well run. Would recommend Feast cafe, Millars LAtelier Du Vin and Masonic Arms.
