For the ultimate seaside retreat, look no further than this delightful single-storey lodge, set just seconds from Mossyard Bay Beach - a wonderful escape for families or groups of up to six guests. A much-loved destination on southern Scotland’s Solway Coast, the property offers effortless access to sandy beaches, water sports, rugged clifftop walking routes and excellent mountain biking terrain. It’s located just 5 miles from the charming town of Gatehouse of Fleet and a little further from the vast Galloway Forest Park (9 miles). The forest provides fantastic opportunities for spotting rare wildlife, including red kites, red squirrels, roe deer and even otters. Keen walkers can tackle Cairnsmore of Fleet (22 miles), the southernmost mountain in Scotland and a popular choice for experienced hikers or enjoy the gentler landscapes and panoramic views of Darngarroch Hill (9 miles).

Designed to make the most of its spectacular sea views, this ground-floor property features expansive windows and patio doors throughout, framing the scenery while flooding the space with natural light. At the heart of the home is a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where a sleek modern kitchen sits alongside a dining area and two comfortable sofas. A contemporary wood burner adds warmth and atmosphere, while a TV/DVD and a selection of films provide easy entertainment for cosy evenings indoors. Along the hallway, you’ll find three bright and welcoming bedrooms, all dressed in soft linens and calming tones. The largest is a super-king-size room with its own en-suite shower room, while the remaining two bedrooms are arranged as twins and share a stylish family bathroom.

French doors from the lounge open onto an elevated decking area - the perfect place to soak up the panoramic sea views. Complete with outdoor furniture and a gas BBQ, this inviting space is made for slow summer afternoons, dining and relaxing in the fresh coastal air. Private parking is also available directly beside the property.

This was our 15th visit to Mossyard and certainly not our last. The quality of the lodges, the cleanliness and the high quality of finish has never changed in all the years we have been coming, its simply excellent. I would recommend any of the Mossyard properties in a heartbeat.
