Commanding a spectacular coastal location, this property hosts six guests in comfort and style, creating a perfect base for adventures on the Dumfries and Galloway coastline. Just under 200 metres away, Mossyard Beach is an ideal destination for seaside activities, with sandy shores and natural surroundings. At low tide, walk over to the Mossyard Millennium Labyrinth (0.5 miles), a unique rock labyrinth set atop a small sandy hill. Take a coastal hike across to Auchenlarie Beach (1.5 miles) or Dalavan Beach (3 miles), admiring clifftop scenery and rocky outcrops as you go. Move along the scenic banks of Fleet Water to reach Gatehouse of Fleet (5 miles), your nearest town for attractions and amenities. With a handful of pubs, shops and riverside beauty spots, you can easily while away an afternoon here. Explore the natural beauty of Cally Woods (6 miles) or enjoy a day of golf at the Cally Palace Hotel (6.5 miles).

Wood-panelled décor and a neutral colour scheme add to the rustic feel of this single-storey lodge. Make your way inside to find an open-plan living area with a feature wall of floor-to-ceiling windows and patio doors framing the sea view and letting natural light flood in. This all-encompassing space features a fully fitted kitchen in one corner, a spacious dining area, and a lovely lounge spot with a Scandi-style wood burner tucked neatly into the corner. Let the warm glow of the flames wash over you whilst you switch on the TV or listen to music on the radio or CD player. After an evening of relaxation, make your way along the hall to find three bedrooms. The largest is a stunningly spacious super-king-size room, complete with storage for unpacking clothes and an en-suite shower room. Positioned next to one another, you’ll also find two twin bedrooms, equally welcoming with crisp cotton bed linen, and a bathroom opposite with the choice of a bath or shower.

Capture the sea view from atop the decking, stepping out via French doors onto the furnished patio area. This enclosed space features a gas BBQ, ideal for relaxing on sunny afternoons. There’s also a grassy area beside the property; however, this space is unenclosed. Private parking is available right next to the holiday home.

This was our 2nd visit to Barley Lodge and certainly didnt disappoint on our return. Its a beautiful luxury lodge, with the most amazing sea views and spectacular early morning sunrises. Looking out to see newborn cows and wild deer just fab. The coziness of the log burning stove in the Autumn/Winter months was an added bonus. Comfortable beds and Read morewell stocked kitchen, with everything you need if you are cooking or baking. Both Asda and Tesco deliver to the door for online shopping. We will definitely be returning for a 3rd stay! Hide

Im loathe to recommend or rate our stay to be honest! The more people who know how good it is, the less likely Ill be able to book in!! We always enjoy our stay. Its comfortable and relaxing, very well equipped. If there was a downside Id say WiFi is variable and that the sofas are probably due to be replaced. But definitely five star all round.

A superb stay as always at Mossyard. The property is spotlessly clean, has everything you will need for a self catering property. We took things just in case but need not have done as its all there! Last but not least the view is so beautiful!
