Escape the crowds and reconnect with nature at this off-the-beaten-track hideaway in rural Perthshire - a top choice for families seeking peace and tranquillity. Rural, but not remote, the property is just 2.5 miles from the vibrant town of Aberfeldy, home to Scotland’s longest river and well known for its connections to the country’s bard, Robert Burns. Follow the idyllic River Tay down towards Loch Tay (5.5 miles), a striking body of water framed by steep valleys and backed by the beautiful hills of Ben Lawers (17 miles). Activities on the loch include wildlife spotting while walking or cycling its shores, hiring a boat for an afternoon of trout or salmon fishing, or enjoying thrilling water sports from Taymouth Marina (6 miles). If adrenaline-fuelled pursuits are more your style, the Cairngorms National Park (23 miles) offers skiing, snowboarding and endless opportunities for mountain climbing.

Delightfully decorated in a traditional country cottage style, this stone-built property offers a welcoming home-from-home feel. Step inside to the ground floor, where you’ll find a lovely lounge with patio doors leading into the garden and filling the room with natural light. Comfortable seating is arranged around a wood burner, with a Smart TV and DVD player ready for cosy evenings in. The kitchen/diner is also located on this floor - a spacious, well-equipped room ideal for preparing and enjoying meals together. Completing the ground floor is a double bedroom with a Jack-and-Jill wet room, accessible from both the hallway and the bedroom. This space is cosy yet spacious, decorated with local tartan accents that enhance its Scottish charm. Upstairs, two inviting twin bedrooms continue the same warm aesthetic. These rooms are served by a convenient WC off the landing.

Step outside to breathe in the crisp Highland air from the property’s enclosed patio and surrounding garden. The patio features outdoor seating and a dog kennel, while the lawned garden offers beautiful views and ample space for ball games. Outdoor furniture invites you to dine alfresco on sunny days. Beyond this, the garden extends into five acres of land and a babbling burn, allowing you to enjoy the great outdoors without venturing far from home. Private parking is available for two cars.

We absolutely loved the peace and quete with the beautiful grounds and of course the Burn trickling away. We chose this location as it is ideal being close enough to the A9 to go exploring, but far enough away to feel like a little haven. The other reason is having one of the party with accessibility needs requiring level access - this is more thanRead more covered. The addition of a wet floor bathroom is a godsend. You will be made to feel very welcome and looked after by the owner of this cosy cottage that has everything you could need for an enjoyable stay, with lots of walks and beautiful routes to explore Hide
