On the banks of the River Urr, this village is known for its maritime heritage, boasting a sailing centre and a small sandy beach to centre your stay around. It pairs beautifully with the neighbouring village of Rockcliffe (4 miles), and you can follow the delightful Jubilee Path along the coast to reach it. A little further afield, visit Sandyhills (4.5 miles) with its exceptional beach and deer park. Mountain bikers will adore exploring the local area on two wheels, discovering the popular 7stanes trail at Dalbeattie, just 2.5 miles away. For those who prefer golf, a range of courses can be found nearby, including Craigieknowes Golf Course (1 mile) and Colvend Golf Club (4 miles).

This fantastically styled property retains plenty of its original 1970s character, decorated with a nostalgic, retro-inspired feel. It is wonderfully spacious throughout, inviting guests to spread out and unwind across three floors. On the ground floor, discover a range of practical storage spaces, including a utility room, drying room and wood store, perfect for keeping outdoor gear organised throughout your stay. The first two bedrooms are located on this level, both served by a family bathroom with the choice of a bath or a shower. While both rooms are arranged as twins, one also features an additional fold-out bed. Take the open-tread steps up to the first floor to find an open-plan layout where rooms effortlessly blend into one another. Start in the lounge area, a generous space with ample comfortable seating, an open fire and a Smart TV. This leads seamlessly into the dining space, where stylish G-Plan furniture lends a mid-century modern twist. Next to this, the kitchen is a bright, cheerful room fitted with colourful cabinets and complete with an additional breakfast table for relaxed dining. A pantry and utility area are tucked beside it, alongside a convenient WC. Along the hall, the bedroom on this floor is a charming double. Take another flight of stairs up to the second floor to find the three remaining bedrooms. Two are king-size, each spacious and complete with dressing tables and their own en-suite bathrooms, while the final bedroom is a snug single.

Two outdoor spaces invite you to make the most of sunny weather. At ground level, a large, unenclosed garden offers generous lawn space, a wildlife-haven pond and a furnished patio area with a gas BBQ. On the first floor, step through the patio doors onto the elevated terrace, a balcony-style space with plenty of outdoor seating, allowing you to fully enjoy a sunny afternoon. Fabulous house for family gathering, very comfortable, a home from home. Couple of local hotels, 5 minutes walk for food & drink. Plenty to do in the area. Carson's Butcher steak pies are a must, based at the cross in Dalbeattie. On the way home or other

Bells View is an incredible property, which suited our three-generation party of ten perfectly. The house is very spacious and the 1970s design of the interior a particular bonus. Kippford is a lovely place and our scepticism about "Scottish Riviera" proved to be misplaced as we enjoyed mostly good weather. Highly recommended.

Great house in a perfect location. Third year staying at Bells View and we're just sorting out dates to book year 4. Kippford is a lovely place to be with a couple of good pubs to visit, nice walks and golf (if you like that) within easy reach. Returning to the house, with its amazing outdoor seating area after a day of explaining is always a pleaRead moresure. Hide

Booked for a Dads n Lads mountain biking weekend in some of the superb forests in the local area. Kippford is a lovely spot, 2 very good pubs within 5 mins of the house, both do great food for hungry teenagers and adults alike. The house was perfect for our needs, has everything you need for a comfortable stay, but if you're expecting a super moderRead moren interior, forget it. This place is an 80s time capsule, with all the modern touches, being 80s kids we loved it. Everything works, loads of space, comfortable and clean, what more do you need? Hide
