Designed to maximise its awe-inspiring sea views, this modern holiday abode in the village of Kippford invites ten guests to savour the sights and sounds of the sea throughout a long or short stay. This impressive property is just a half-mile walk into the village itself, a nautical destination with sailing centres and plenty of riverside appeal. Take the Jubilee Path 4.5 miles to the neighbouring village of Rockcliffe, perhaps enjoying a walk across to Rough Island – a National Trust bird sanctuary – when low tide reveals the causeway. Further incredible wildlife can be spotted at Bainloch Deer Park (5 miles), just a stone’s throw from the pretty, sandy shores of Sandyhills Beach. Moving north, discover the delightful town of Dalbeattie (4.5 miles), surrounded by Dalbeattie Forest – a fantastic destination for nature hikes and mountain biking, and home to the adrenaline-pumping 7stanes trail.

This property is instantly impressive, complete with a four-storey, circular, glass-fronted exterior that promises spectacular views from many of the main rooms. Enter via the fourth floor and make your way down to the third floor, where a sprawling sitting room blends effortlessly into the sunroom. Ample comfortable seating is positioned throughout this space, allowing you to sit and chat either by the warming wood burner or with the sun streaming in. A wall-mounted Sky TV provides evening entertainment, while an additional TV in the kitchen completes the breakfast bar area with space for casual dining. A larger dining table, set for ten, is positioned between the kitchen and lounge area – perfect for raising a glass to celebrate time spent together. Completing this floor is a versatile utility room and the first of the property’s refreshing, fully tiled shower rooms. Make your way down a flight of stairs to discover two extremely spacious bedrooms, both benefiting from those panoramic sea views. The first is a king-size room with a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite wet room, thoughtfully laid out across a generous space. Opposite, the same footprint is utilised as a four-person bedroom with a king-size bed and a double sofa bed, also boasting an en-suite bathroom. Take the spiral staircase down to the lower floor, where two further bedrooms sit alongside a games room, complete with a pool table, seating and an additional Sky TV. These bedrooms consist of two zip-and-link twin rooms, which can be made up as super-king-size beds as required. Finishing off this floor is a compact shower room serving both bedrooms.

From this level, step outside and take the steep steps down into the garden. This lawn and patio space allows you to truly make the most of fine weather, complete with outdoor furniture, a BBQ and a wonderful summer house with table tennis. Private parking is available for three cars.

This was our second visit and again didn't disappoint. Clean and tidy--all essentials there, crockery etc. Very comfortable and relaxing. Couple of things perhaps -plastic glasses etc for the garden patio and perhaps a couple more stools in the lounge with the panoramic views. Lovely location and was thoroughly enjoyed by all our guests.

Braesyde was the perfect house for a family of 10. Well equipped and stunning views. They left a welcome pack that was amazing. All three floors had their own bathroom so everyone felt they had their own space. I can not recommend this property highly enough. We will definitely be booking again.

Most beautiful house with stunning views of the Solway Firth. Could not rate it more highly.

The house was exactly as described on the website. However, the website photos could not do justice to the actual views and setting. Absolutely stunning. The house is situated in the heart of the town and only 5 minutes walk to cafe and restaurants. Perfect for a family short break. The kids loved the two games room.
