Tucked into the edge of Crossmichael village, this enchanting apartment offers thoughtfully designed accommodation for a couple visiting Kirkcudbrightshire. When you're not gazing over the mill burn from the Juliet window, the rural hamlet of Crossmichael provides a serene environment with its marina, wild swimming and a cosy pub and shop to break at. Further afield, the foodie town of Castle Douglas (4.5 miles) is a must for a culinary adventurer. While you're there, take time to tour its galleries, enjoy its pubs, and perhaps fit in a round at the 9-hole golf course. Loch Ken lies at the back of Crossmichael and is excellent for birdwatching or water sports. Pull on your hiking boots and head out on an adventure through Galloway Forest Park’s 300 square miles of outstanding natural beauty. Stay late enough, and enjoy the Dark Sky Reserve, which can showcase the sparkling band of the Milky Way.

Enter this lovingly converted mill via the ground floor, and find yourself welcomed by the handy drying room, with a shoe rack, washing machine and tumble dryer. Head upstairs to the first floor, where the lounge/kitchen/diner presents a sun-drenched haven with picturesque views over the tumbling waterfall and adjoining woodland. Tear away your gaze while you prepare a Scottish feast in the well-appointed modern kitchen, before serving up around the four-person table beside the window. Kick back on the comfortable sofa, watch TV and enjoy the heat from the wood burner. The double bedroom is also on this floor and offers a calming space to sleep, while the stylish wet room provides a large shower and WC.

Bask out in the sunshine on the raised patio area, with its pergola and delightful dining furniture. It’s the perfect spot for your morning caffeine and spreading out walking maps. The property also benefits from bike storage, plus parking.
