Embrace a slower pace of life with a stay on Easdale Island, where you can savour sea views, countryside walks, and visit a welcoming cafe/pub, which also hosts pop-up restaurant nights. This delightful cottage has been designed to reflect the area’s rich slate-mining heritage, which you can further explore with walks around the island. The old slate quarry pools are accessible via a direct footpath from the garden. Within half a mile, you’ll find the Easdale Island Folk Museum and the community hall. The island is the venue for the annual World Stone Skimming Championships, which attracts people from all over the world. Take the passenger ferry to the mainland and explore the Firth of Lorn from Seil (0.5 miles), crossing the famous Bridge over the Atlantic (4.5 miles) on your way to Oban (17 miles), the vibrant “seafood capital of Scotland”, where you can hike and bike along Scotland’s west coast, spotting eagles, otters and dolphins along the way.
Beautifully presented, this slate cottage has been lovingly decorated with cosy touches and tartan textures. Everything is conveniently arranged on one level, including the spacious lounge/diner. This light-filled room is perfect for slow mornings and restful evenings, whether you’re curling up to watch the TV or a DVD, enjoying meals together at the dining table, or unwinding beside the warmth of the wood burner. The galley kitchen sits just next door and is spacious and fully equipped. Along the hallway, you’ll find two inviting double bedrooms, each dressed in cosy bedding, as well as a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Surrounded by generous garden space and stunning views, this rural cottage truly comes into its own during the summer months. Relax in either the front or rear garden, settle into the outdoor seating, and enjoy al fresco dining with the BBQ. Please note that there is no parking available on the island, so cars must be left on the mainland before accessing the property on foot via the passenger ferry.
