Quality time is best enjoyed with your nearest and dearest in a comfortable base, and this property on Scotland’s West Coast promises the perfect escape from which to make unforgettable memories. This secluded abode is located in the peaceful Lerags Glen, just 4.5 miles from the well-known town of Oban. This locale is known as Scotland’s seafood capital, a fantastic destination for trying the fresh catch of the day, surrounded by miles of dramatic seaside scenery and handsome shorelines. It’s also known as the ‘Gateway to the Isles’, boasting regular boat trips across to the Isle of Mull, Isle of Kerrera and Isle of Staffa. A little closer to home, discover Loch Nell (5 miles), a scenic spot for walks around calm waters, with the chance to spot red and roe deer, red squirrels, pine martens and the occasional sea eagle overhead.

This spacious property is instantly welcoming, with neutral decor and a home-from-home atmosphere. Inside, you’re invited to enjoy cooking dinner and savouring delicious meals in the kitchen/diner, a space with large windows and wonderful views. These views continue into the triple-aspect lounge, a large room with plenty of space to unwind. Settle into the sofas with the wood burner gently blazing away in the corner. Enjoy lively conversation, a board game evening, or the chance to relax with the TV/DVD player on. Also on this floor, a utility room features laundry equipment for added convenience, and a ground-floor bathroom is on hand when returning home from long walks. A second bathroom can be found upstairs, accompanying two delightful bedrooms. The first is a large king-size with soft linens and space to unpack. A second, larger room features a zip-and-link bed that can be made up as a twin where required, plus the additional option of a pull-out single sofa bed, ideal for one child.

Outside, the garden blends effortlessly into the surrounding countryside, creating ample lawn space for children and pets to play, albeit with supervision, as this area is unenclosed. The garden has been furnished to offer space to sit outside and dine alfresco, a delight when the sun shines. Ample private parking is also provided.

Fantastic place to stay. We had the most wonderful week, partly helped by having wall-to-wall sunshine all week. The cottage was in a perfect location, close to Oban with easy access to so many wonderful islands, walking and wildlife. Its definitely somewhere wed recommend and would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at Achalic Beag. The cottage is wonderfully kitted out with everything you would need during your holiday. On arrival we were impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage and we appreciated the lovely welcoming gift. We particularly appreciated the comfortable beds that were appropriately sized in both rooms, the shower had gooRead mored water pressure, there was enough comfortable seating in the living room for all 4 of us, wood for the fireplace was provided and then of course the location was perfect. Close to Oban but still far enough to have spectacular views all around you. An absolute gem and a pleasure to stay. Hide
