The surrounding area offers something for everyone, making the lodge an ideal destination for couples, families and adventurers alike. Outdoor enthusiasts will love exploring the Galloway Forest Park and discovering its wide range of activities, including hiking, water sports, horse riding, fishing and clay pigeon shooting. This area is also home to some of the darkest skies in Europe, perfect for spotting constellations in the clear night sky. Families may want to visit The Cocoabean Company’s chocolate factory in Twynholm (5.5 miles) for chocolate-making workshops and fun in the indoor soft-play and outdoor adventure zones, or the magical Galloway Faery Trail at Barstobrick (9 miles) for a unique, treasure-hunt-style adventure. Take a picnic and enjoy the remote tranquillity of Carrick Beach, 5.5 miles away, or explore the ruins of MacLellan’s Castle and the charming streets of Kirkcudbright, ‘The Artists’ Town’, just 8 miles away.

The single-storey lodge is tucked away in the Galloway countryside on a family-owned site, among seven other boutique-style holiday properties. Its sleek, symmetrical exterior is clad with timber, punctuated by black-framed patio doors that give direct access from the living space and both bedrooms to the spacious deck. Inside, the open-plan living area is full of light and furnished in an elegantly simple style, with soft seating arranged around a Smart TV. The well-planned kitchen includes everything the cook will need for holiday cooking, plus a dishwasher to help with cleaning up, while the adjoining dining area provides space to enjoy delicious meals together. On either side of this inviting space are the two king-size bedrooms, one of which can be made up as a twin for flexibility. Both bedrooms look out across the same fabulous view as the living area; one has an en-suite bathroom, while the other boasts an en-suite shower room.

A clean-lined deck extends across the entire front of the lodge, with relaxed seating placed so that you can lounge and enjoy the panoramic countryside views with a morning coffee or a laid-back sundowner. Also included in your stay is complimentary use of the on-site, shared, wood-fired sauna and cold plunge, where you can relax, re-energise and admire the scenery, sunsets and twinkling stars. Also on offer at this luxury lodge is convenient private parking for one car.
