Yet again another wonderful holiday in Rockcliffe and, as ever made even more more special by our stay in Colbeine. As a family and extended family, our annual trip to Rockcliffe is the highlight of our year and our joy to stay in such a well appointed and well located house. With such glorious weather this summer we did not leave the local vicinitRead morey except for a few walks and to see the Peplow exhibition in the Kirkcudbright Art Gallery and of course the most beautiful walled garden and nursery of Ellen Bank. So much more to explore and discover so our booking is confirmed for next summer already! Thank you! Hide

Colbeine has an idilic location on the seafront. Great for sea/weather watching whatever the weather. The house is delightfully old fashioned, but very practical. We had a multigenerational holiday there and everyone enjoyed the sea, sandcastles and waterworks. Almost permanent ice cream van a bonus! The walk over to Kippford and almost every beaRead morech provided pre schoolers with opportunities to improve balance bike skills. Hide

We had a magical week at Colbeine cottage, from the moment we arrived we knew we were staying somewhere very special. The house, garden and location are beautiful and we particularly loved spending time watching the birds from the sunroom (loads of green finches, woodpecker and a nuthatch). We definitely want to visit again in the near future as a Read moreweek just didn't seem long enough. Hide

Fabulous house - perfect location overlooking the sea. Very well equipped (we were with our young grandchildren and so found it easier to cook at home with them). Absolutely recommend - thank you!

Lovely house, lovely view, comfortable, clean, good facilties. We did think there was far less crockery and cutlery than the last time we stayed in this house but it didn't matter as we were only 4.

A beautiful setting. The house is delightfully old fashioned and spotless. Im sure its the same furniture that was there in 2013. It shouldnt be advertised as having an open fire as they say not to use it because theres a birds nest in the chimney- surely not the same one as 2013!. Its a pity the dining room is at the back with no view and the diniRead moreng table in the hall is broken as it would have been nice to eat in the conservatory. Having said all that we had a wonderful time and hope to return. Hide

We really enjoyed our stay at Colbeine, the beds are comfortable, and so are the settees in the lounge. We spent most of our time in the sun room , watching the incredible views . We had lovely sunny weather while we were there . Some blinds would be a nice addition to the sun room . As it gets really hot in there. We really enjoyed our walks from tRead morehe door , especially the walk from Rockcliffe to Kippford . Where you can get a nice lunch or evening meal . Our dog enjoyed the runs on the beach . Hide

Another great holiday here for the third year, but gutted weve missed booking the same dates for 2025. Superb location and one of the few places we can take four dogs.
