Perfect base for relaxing or traveling to nearby villages. Fantastic view over the bay to wake up to every morning with an array of bird life dabbling in the weed and sand. Ask Andy the host anything about the area, if he can't give you an answer there and then he will make it his mission to find out and get back to you.

The View is aptly named with perfect vantage point to watch the tides come and go, and to see the locals play bowls. Well equipped and located right on top of the superb coffee shop (The Hive) it was such a lovely base for visiting the south west of Scotland. I think counted 80 steps to The Harbour Inn, that was also an essential part of our stay. Read moreAll of Garlieston was extremely dog friendly, so our labradoodle Grace was very happy and she loved tearing around the beach. We stayed around the summer solstice when the days were at their longest; hoping to return at a "darker" time of year for some star gazing. Lovely hosts, would completely recommend The View. Hide

Fabulous holiday let - a real home from home. Very comfortable and warm. Lots of attention to detail and thoughtful touches and a very comfy bed. Beautiful views from the windows and good walks from the door. Having The Hive cafe on the doorstep was an added bonus. The area is stunning with lots to explore. Kerry and Andy are first rate hosts. Beautiful and well equipped cottage in a lovely, quiet village. Great location and fabulous views, I could have sat all day watching the tide come in and then go out. Lots of places to visit within a 30-60min drive and some stunning countryside to walk through. Great pub and cafe in the village if you dont want to cook.
