Return from days in the Cairngorm Mountains and the Moray Firth to this stunning former shepherd’s cottage, a fully renovated home ready to host multigenerational groups. Truly rural and undisturbed, the property is just 2.5 miles from Aberlour and the banks of the River Spey, with a walk through the property’s farmland leading down into the town. Here, admire the beauty of Linn Falls (3 miles) and set off along the Speyside Way, a long-distance walking route that passes local distilleries and delightful forest scenery. Some call this route the ‘whisky trail’; visit the GlenAllachie Distillery (3 miles) for a tour that offers further insight into the area’s most popular export. A little further afield, explore the coastline of the Moray Firth, discovering coastal walks and spotting dolphins at the much-loved Spey Bay (19.5 miles).

This stone-built cottage sits surrounded by open fields and bucolic greenery, a truly restful place to escape to. Leave coats and boots in the porch before making use of the handy utility room with laundry facilities, ideal when returning home with wet or muddy gear. The property then flows into the kitchen/diner, a charming space with a central breakfast table for relaxed brunches and late-night dinners. In an open-plan layout, the lounge sits just beyond this room, complete with the welcoming addition of a wood burner and a TV/DVD player set-up in the corner. Move through the rear hallway to reach the first of the property’s bedrooms, a delightful double with garden views. This sits directly beside a ground-floor bathroom, creating a self-contained space for those who prefer not to tackle the stairs. A single flight leads up to the two remaining bedrooms, both arranged as twins and served by a family shower room.

Savour the sunshine in the property’s garden, enjoying the enclosed patio area and the wider open grounds, with pretty fields busy with livestock. Outdoor furniture and a BBQ can be found on the patio, and care should be taken to keep dogs on leads whilst exploring the wider estate. Ample driveway parking completes the offering.

We had the most magical Christmas at Bogroy. The house was just perfect and in such an amazing area. So much to do and see, then to be able to come back to a warm fire and such a comfortable home. We will definitely recommend and hopefully return very soon. Thank you from all my family. Deborah
