Set at the foothills of the Cairngorms and surrounded by striking woodland and open moorland, you’d be forgiven for only exploring your immediate location by foot or by bike. If you do want to go further, then Grantown-on-Spey has a wonderful 18-hole golf course, as well as a thriving high street full of shops, pubs and restaurants. Energetic activities, such as mountain biking and hiking, can be found in Aviemore (15 miles), or ascend to the top of Ben Macdui (25 miles) for spectacular, camera-worthy views. For a day out, Highland Wildlife Park (24 miles) is a great place to see wild animals up close.
