Admire the miraculous beauty of southern Scotland with a stay on the Solway Coast, making lifelong memories in this well-designed, multi-storey family holiday home. The property is perched above the Urr Estuary in the village of Kippford, a sailing destination centred around nautical pursuits. Keen sailors will adore getting out on the water, experiencing the choppy waves from the Solway Yacht Club, less than 0.5 miles away. If you prefer to stay on dry land, this area is also a gem for cyclists – the revered 7Stanes Mountain Bike Network can be accessed from two nearby locations, Dalbeattie (4.5 miles) and Dumfries (18 miles). Visit the beach just 5 miles away and spend time on the sheltered shores of Sandyhills, a golden-sand destination backed by soft dunes and wooded hills or enjoy a safari tour at Bainloch Deer Park nearby (5 miles).

Designed to an immaculate standard, this light, bright holiday home has been fitted with premium features. Underfloor heating greets you after a long day, inviting you to stow away coats and shoes and make your way inside. At ground level, a study space with a desk offers room for anyone with emails to catch up on whilst away, and a utility room allows you to get a head start on the holiday laundry. From here, make your way to the first floor to find space to unwind. The open-plan living area features an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen with all the necessary appliances, including a warming drawer for keen bakers. Next to it, a dining table comfortably seats six guests, and a separate WC adds convenience. Completing this space, a large lounge area is filled with natural light, featuring soft seating positioned around a Smart TV and incredible estuary views. Head down to the lower floor when it’s time for bed, where you’ll find three well-styled bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms – one double and one twin – enjoy access to the lower-level balcony, a perfect spot to step out with a coffee in hand. The double offers an en-suite bathroom, and the twin enjoys sole use of the main family bathroom. The final bedroom is a marvellous king-size, designed with a private en-suite and Smart TV, creating the ultimate hub for late-night relaxation.

A selection of outdoor spaces helps elevate this two-storey abode. At the back of the property, two balconies on different levels create inviting seating areas to relax and enjoy views across the estuary. One is accessible from the lounge area, and the other from two bedrooms. For even more space to run around, a large lawn with outdoor furniture is perfect for those visiting with children or pets. A spacious private driveway completes the property’s offering, accommodating up to three cars.

The house was lovely, and underfloor heating a real treat. It was easy to find and instructions were spot on. The little tea room round the corner is highly recommended, lovely scones and coffee, as is the nearby pub.
