Serene, scenic and close to the sea, this wonderful cottage offers an enviable retreat for a family of six looking to enjoy Scotland’s stunning southern coastline. Tucked away on a quiet residential road in the charming village of Rockcliffe, the property sits just 0.5 miles from the rugged beauty of Rockcliffe Beach - a much-loved destination for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts and relaxed seaside picnics. From the beach, a tidal causeway leads across to Rough Island (1 mile), a picturesque nature reserve with breathtaking coastal scenery to explore. Be sure to check the tide times before crossing. If the tides aren’t in your favour, stay on dry land and follow the scenic Jubilee Path to the neighbouring village of Kippford (4 miles), where you’ll find welcoming pubs, restaurants and sailing centres. A short drive away, Dalbeattie (6.5 miles) offers a wider range of amenities, while the market town of Castle Douglas (12 miles) is also well worth a visit.

Thoughtfully designed to make the most of the available space, this comfortable single-storey holiday home invites you to step inside and immediately unwind. At the heart of the property is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, creating a sociable setting where guests can cook, dine and relax together with ease. The lounge area is brightened with tasteful pops of colour, while comfortable sofas are arranged around a wall-mounted TV and wood burner, creating a cosy spot for evenings spent relaxing after a day outdoors. When it’s time to turn in, head along the hallway to find three peaceful bedrooms - two doubles and one twin room. These are served by two bathrooms, including an en-suite attached to one of the double bedrooms. A practical utility room completes the interior, offering useful space for laundry and storing outdoor equipment.

Outside, the private enclosed garden provides the perfect place to soak up the surrounding scenery with a morning coffee or an evening dram of local whisky. Featuring an elevated deck, a spacious lawn and outdoor seating, it’s an ideal spot for making the most of sunny days and peaceful evenings. Private parking for two cars is also available.

The only downside, was the narrow entrance (the gateway) onto the drive which was very awkward to manoeuvre through by car.

Fabulous place and wonderful location. Spent a girlie crafty weekend with my daughter and we will definitely book again to do the same.

Lovely house in a good location. Views of the bay and a short stroll down to the beach, with multiple walks in easy reach and a local shop in neighbouring village. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed at firpoint 3 years ago and pleased to find it still very clean and well kept. Would certainly recommend and look forward to returning and looking at the views from the lounge.

Loved Firpoint. Third year at the cottage and as usual first class. Roll on next year.
