Enjoy the best of all worlds at this beautiful bungalow; off the beaten track yet close to some of Galloway’s most popular locations, it makes a fabulous choice for a break with family or friends. Enveloped by verdant countryside, the property sits in splendid isolation along a National Cycle Route, 3.5 miles from the Cairnsmore of Fleet National Nature Reserve, one of South West Scotland’s wildest areas. Just 3 miles in the opposite direction, Creetown is near the head of Wigtown Bay. Local stores will top up your supplies, but for a wider choice head to former mill town Gatehouse of Fleet (9 miles) to buy locally produced ice cream, cheese, smoked fish and meats. A similar distance from your doorstep, Newton Stewart offers all the essential rural town amenities and is heralded as the ‘gateway’ to Galloway Forest Park, the UK’s first Dark Sky Park.

Overlooking a patchwork of pastures and dry-stone walls, this detached bungalow impresses from the outset. Two different entrance options allow effortless access – once inside, you’ll find a long hallway leading to a contemporary kitchen complete with both an oil-fired Rayburn and a gas-powered cooker to inspire your culinary efforts. Gather for meals at the suite in the nearby lounge/dining room. After you’ve eaten, the Smart TV provides home-from-home entertainment while the huge windows offer fabulous views across the surrounding landscape. Light the wood burner for after-dark ambience. A utility room with toilet facilities complements the large wet room. When it’s time to sleep, there are three bedrooms to choose from: a twin and a king-size bedroom are off the hallway, and a further king-size room is accessed from the kitchen.

Driveway parking allows you to unpack at your own pace, while the large garden that wraps around the side and rear of the property features lawned and paved areas plus plants for seasonal interest. Enjoying an elevated position, the summerhouse has conservatory-style furniture and extends into a covered patio area with a table and chairs for al fresco dining.

This was a very happy return to Teapot after many years. We always loved Teapot but now it has had many improvements and modernisations and it is a perfect cottage. Teapot Cottage is lovely. There were only 2 of us, so loads of space, but we reckoned a group of six would not feel overcrowded.
