This is the third time we have stayed in this cottage and it is just perfect for us - comfortable, well equipped, great location and enclosed garden. The sun room looks out over the bay with fantastic views and we spent most of our time in there when we were not out and about in the area. The dogs loved it and settled in very well, were planning onRead more coming back next year! Hide

On paper this cottage seemed absolutely perfect for us. An enclosed garden for our dog was a particular attraction and he absolutely loved it. The cottage itself was ok, could do with a bit of TLC, some decoration and a really good clean, particularly in the conservatory. But the biggest problem for us was the road noise from the almost constant trRead moreaffic passing close by. Obviously the owners can do nothing about the road, but it would have helped us to make a more informed decision about whether the place was right for us or not, had we known about how busy the road was. We felt very uncomfortable from the start, as the property was in need of renovation and dirty. The freezer was iced over, and there were still open food items in the freezer compartment. We had to clean the refrigerator to use it. The oven was also so dirty that we couldn't use it. There was a lot of mold on the silicone in the shower tray. The toRead moreilet seat was only half attached, and the toilet wasn't clean. The cushions for the garden chairs were worn and dirty. There were still food scraps on the seats. The sofa was unusable because it was also dirty and worn. The entire house smelled musty despite intensive ventilation. So we found a hotel and moved out early. Hide

Lovely location, lovely property, lovely weather as well. We spent a relaxing week just watching the sea, sitting and visiting local points. As well as some cycling around the local tracks and lanes. The house was well located and was warm and comfy. Lovely break.

Lovely cosy cottage. Enjoyed being so close to the beach. Set up our telescope in the sunroom to watch the seabirds flying by.

Airyolland is a great base for a part of Scotland we know very well. It was clean and warm but it is an old cottage. The garden is secure and safe for dogs. Its nice to sit in the sun room listening to the sea and watching The Mull of Galloway lighthouse in the distance. We had 3 incredibly clear nights so the stars were amazing, we could even maRead moreke out the Milky Way. The only thing I will say is that some of the pans/wok etc could do with being replaced as I used the wok one night and there were bits of black coating off the wok in the food which had to be binned. We enjoyed our stay non the less. Hide
