A stay at this tranquil cottage retreat promises a mix of unspoiled beaches, stargazing spots and forest adventures for a family of six. Say good morning to your Highland cow neighbours before heading out to explore the stunning Solway Coast. Glorious soft sand beaches are under 2 miles away, including the family-friendly coasts of Dhoon Shore and Brighouse Bay, or head to Carrick to go rock pooling and admire striking rock formations. Inland, the fringes of Galloway Forest Park are within 7 miles and with over 300 square miles, there’s no shortage of walking, mountain biking or loch views to explore. If you’re staying late, make sure to check out its Dark Skies for some incredible stargazing. Enjoy year-round festivals and a colourful working harbour at Kirkcudbright (3 miles).
This beautifully converted barn is reached via a stone step and into the large open hallway with coat and boot storage and a separate WC. Inside, the spacious lounge is full of light from the picture window overlooking the surrounding farmland and features a three-piece suite to enjoy the view. The family-style kitchen is equipped with everything needed to make cooking a breeze, including a gas hob, an oven with a grill, and a microwave. Linger over your homemade meals at the adjacent six-person dining table. From the kitchen, make your way out to the conservatory to spend a few hours with a book or a glass of wine. The two charming bedrooms are situated on the first floor: a spacious family room with a double bed and two single beds, and a double bedroom with storage space. Both bedrooms have access to a relaxing bathroom with a bath, shower and WC.
Spend summer afternoons reclining with a cold drink at the seating area in the enclosed garden. The property also benefits from private parking for three cars and has bike storage.
