A superb base for anyone wishing to explore the North Highlands, the cottage in Lochcarron offers all the home comforts. Sleeping four guests, and welcoming canine companions, it nestles in picturesque surroundings within the charming Wester Ross village. Strike out from here to lose yourselves in the glorious scenery of the Strathcarron Hills and the Applecross Peninsula. Walk along the shores of the sea loch of Loch Carron or 2.5 miles up to the abandoned village of Stromemeanach. Spend an afternoon at the Attadale Estate Gardens, 7 miles away, once a deer forest and now a riot of colour with Japanese and sunken gardens. History enthusiasts might enjoy seeing the remains of the National Trust’s Strome Castle, 3.5 miles away, built back in the 1400s. Venture 22 miles to the Kyle of Lochalsh to cross over to the magnificent Isle of Skye, with its dramatic scenery and celebrated beauty spots.

Let yourselves in via the lobby, where you can kick off your walking shoes and leave your backpacks. Head on through to the inviting lounge/diner, with its exposed stone chimney breast, to take the weight off your feet and gather your thoughts after your exhilarating day out in the Highlands. Choose a book from the shelves or set up a board game at the table. Find your favourite show on the TV or play some relaxing music through the CD player. The kitchen, which is accessed from the hall, has been arranged to ensure you feel completely at home, with everything you will require to help you cater for your party. Rustle up hearty Scottish feasts in here, then serve them at the table in the living room. There is also a handy utility room for rinsing through any damp walking wear. Your two bedrooms, a double and a twin, are also found from the central hallway and have been finished to ensure you experience restful nights during your stay. Decide whether to lounge in the bath or rinse under the shower between your adventures.

Take any children and your delighted dog out to play in the lawned garden on sunny days, supervising them on the steps and slopes. Relax outside with a glass of chilled wine on summer nights.

Een klein eenvoudig huisje in een eenvoudige dorp langs Loch Carron. Goede faciliteiten. Fijne keuken. Supermarkt en twee leuke koffiebars op loopafstand. Bedden zijn wel kort en smal.

We had a lovely stay at Moriston Cottage. Location was very convenient, close to the loch side (no actual view of the loch from the cottage) and the local shop. The cottage was well equipped, warm and, on the whole, clean. However, we were disappointed at having to wash the knives, forks and spoons before using them as they were not as clean as thRead moreey should have been. Also, under the bed had not been cleaned for some considerable time - there was a thick layer of dust and some used tissues/wipes. Overall, we would recommend staying at this cottage. Hide

Super Cottage mit allem was man bentigt. Einkaufen, Cafe, Essen, Trinken.
