A central base for exploring the Highlands, this countryside cottage is a home-from-home retreat for four adults and two children. Inverness, the ‘capital of the Highlands’, is just 7 miles away, offering a vibrant array of attractions and amenities, including a castle, cathedral, and delightful museum and art gallery. Beyond it, Loch Ness, arguably Scotland’s most famous loch, is around 15 miles away, offering boat cruises, water sports and scenic walks around its idyllic shores. Further hikes and unforgettable bike rides can be enjoyed in the Cairngorms, around 20 miles away. This mountainous national park is a true hotbed of outdoor activity, offering exciting wildlife encounters and exceptional views. Start an adventure in Aviemore (30 miles) and look forward to snow sports, climbing and more. Staying closer to home, the banks of the Moray Firth lie around 7.5 miles away, where you can enjoy waterfront golf courses and easy coastal walks.

Easy on the eye, with soft accents and a neutral colour scheme throughout, this two-storey holiday home is instantly appealing. Move inside to find a lounge, kitchen and diner that effortlessly blend into one another, creating a sociable space for slow mornings and restful nights. The lounge area features a wood burner, ample soft seating and a Smart TV, plus patio doors leading out into the garden – perfect for BBQ weather. The dine-in kitchen is modern and well-equipped, with a table set for six when it’s time to sit down together. At the rear, the utility room is a fully functional space with laundry facilities and room to store any oversized outdoor gear. A double bedroom and full-sized family bathroom can be found on this floor, the bedroom complete with a comfortable mattress and fresh linens, and the bathroom offering both a shower and bath for refreshment. Make your way upstairs to find two remaining bedrooms and the final shower room. Of these, the largest is a king-size with a second TV, while the second bedroom is a twin with a cot for the smallest guests.

A manicured lawn and private terrace sit at the front of the property, made secluded thanks to tall trees and fully enclosed for children’s safety. There’s a grassy space for ball games, a furnished patio for unwinding outdoors, plus a gravelled driveway with parking for up to three cars.

Lovely cottage, and fabulously friendly and helpful hosts. The sofa had some strange springs in the seat cushions which were rather uncomfortable which was a shame because the cottage was well equipped and the beds super comfy, we slept like logs!

We had a wonderful stay at Broombank Cottage. The cottage itself was immaculately clean and bigger than the photos. There was everything you could need and it felt like a home from home. The hosts were lovely and offered suggestions of what to do in the surrounding area. The cottage is well located to visit lots of amazing places. We wish we stayedRead more longer. Hide
