My wife and I spent a comfortable and enjoyable week at Glenauld. It is a traditional cottage with plenty of space for the two of us and made a good base for touring the region. There is also a great walk from the cottage to Kirkcudbright along the banks of the river. It takes a couple of hours there and back and was a real treat for the dog.

We had a wonderful week, the size of the house allowed me to surprise my husband with his family for his birthday for the night. The house and garden are perfect for a couple with their dog, or a family. Lovely central location for exploring the area. The hosts were friendly and on hand if we needed anything. Plenty to do and places to eat if yoRead moreu don't feel like cooking. Though the kitchen is well equipped. Hide

The cottage has everything you need. It's warm and cosy and in a central area for visiting other places. We've been coming for 20 yes so highly recommend it, also Tom and Celia are always on hand for anything you need or information about the area. Just like going home.

The setting and the cottage outwardly are superb. Internally the cottage is showing its age a little. The kitchen doors bang very loudly when closed which gets to be irritating very much. The bathroom, particularly the shower in the bath would be much better changed to a walk in shower and no bath. We are elderly and felt that the shower situation Read morewas potentially dangerous, no handle for support etc Hide

Very spacious, well-equiped bungalow set in beauriful, completely private enclosed grounds. Ideal for dogs, old folk and tennis buffs.
