Located on the edge of Dalbeattie and with fabulous tree-filled views front and back, this welcoming holiday home makes a great spot in which to unwind with friends or family. Stroll less than a mile and the town’s history is reflected in its granite architecture and heritage sites, while a range of shops and eateries offer hearty local fare and unique souvenirs. Head to Dalbeattie Forest for a mix of tranquil walking paths, scenic viewpoints, picnic spots and mountain biking trails. Alternatively, drive south to the Solway Coast to find Sandyhills Beach, which is famous for its golden sands and dramatic tidal changes. For day trips further afield, the historic towns of Dumfries and Kirkcudbright are both within 16 miles of your doorstep, while romantic Sweetheart Abbey and historic Threave Castle at Castle Douglas are within 13 miles.

Driveway parking allows you to unpack and explore at a leisurely pace – pause to admire the tree-lined landscape before stepping into your holiday hideaway. The first of your social spaces is a welcoming lounge with dual-aspect windows and a choice of soft seating arranged before a TV and a wood burner. Take your self-catering supplies straight into the kitchen and you’ll find all the must-haves of home; close by, the dining room has French doors opening directly onto the rear garden. When it’s time to sleep, take your pick from two comfortable bedrooms – a double and a twin – which share use of a contemporary shower room.

The lawn and driveway to the front of the property set it well back from the road, but it’s in the back garden that you’ll spend most time.
