Very clean and provides all that is needed for comfortably stay. Only problem was finding the property. Should perhaps make it clearer that property is actually part of the Hive building. Also name The Coorie could be more visible from roadside.

The location was ideal and the accommodation was spacious and bright. Couple of minor issues - the accommodation is attached to the hub/ community centre and the connecting door was wide open. We found the key in the back of the door so were able to lock it. The welcome book hadn't been returned, so couldn't log on to the internet initially or acRead morecess the information in it. This was sorted within a short space of time. When we were using the oven, there wasn't any tea towels so had to carefully use paper towels to get the oven trays out of the oven. This was sorted later in the evening, after we'd returned from our day out. It's suitable for wheelchair users as the bathroom is a wet room with plenty of hand rails for the shower and toilet. A couple of issues in the bathroom being there's only a small hand-wash basin (without a plug). Really need a suitable sink installing. Another issue, for me, as there wasn't a lid on the toilet, a stool would be useful. Also, a proper shelf or similar, in the shower for toiletries etc. I also thought that the microwave was in the wrong place and maybe the entrance between the living area and the kitchen couple be made slightly smaller and the kitchen wall/ counter top be extended enough for the microwave to go there. Regardless of this, we enjoyed our stay there and would definitely book again and would recommend it to others. Hide

When my partner myself and 2 daughterrs arrived on Friday afternoon after a 4 hour drive. When we got to the disability friendly accommodation, we were greeted with a big mound of bird poo on the handrail leading up to the property door. Unlocked the door and went in to be greeted with the stench of bleach. My partner, who is allergic to bleach, coRead moreuld only be in the property for a few minutes before getting headaches and coughing due to the bleach getting on her chest. Spoke to the owner on the phone. She sent someone round to try to help, but they were unable to. I had already opened all the doors and windows, and the stench was still as strong through the property. I advised that we weren't able to stay there with and the lady agreed . Said we would be refunded and compensated as it was unacceptable. A gentleman came in and agreed it wasn't acceptable and shouldn't have happened. It was as though the cleaners used a full bottle of bleach. There were no other properties in the area for us to stay at. The food we had picked up from sainsburys in Newton Stewart had to be thrown away as it was chilled and wouldn't last the journey home. Have been refunded but no sign of any compensation and almost impossible to get hold of the owner to deal with this even 2 weeks later. My partner was unwell for the next week due to her reaction to the bleach Hide

The Coorie was in a lovely location and was generally comfortable and well equipped. However, unfortunately, from an accessibility point of view I would recommend some things. The bathroom sink was too small and the plumbing below the basin meant it was difficult to use the sink from a wheelchair. The single bed was too low for someone with limiteRead mored mobility to get into and out of. Transferring from a wheelchair was also challenging. A profiling bed/ access to a hoist would be a good selling point for disabled users. The front door was difficult to open and close from a wheelchair. It also tended to swing closed by itself.. it would be helpful to have a fridge at a level that could be accessed from a wheelchair. Finding accessible accommodation (and visitor attractions is challenging in Scotland generally. We loved being able to access some of the Galloway forest park and some other locations in the region. The journeys to the west and southern coast was relatively easy. Wed love to make a return visit to Glentrool. Hide

The accommodation was very good - tho the sofa bed mattress not great- glad we just had 1 person sleeping on it. How about putting bunk beds in the single room? We originally shouldve been a group of 6 & had found extra pod accommodation nearby for 2. This was awkward as we were cycling through Glentrool. Up to 6 in the Corrie wouldve been great!Read more Thanks. Hide

Beautiful location and a good starting point for hikes around Loch Trool and visits to Newton, Stewart, and Wigtown. We felt comfortable. Nevertheless, suggestions for improvement: 1. The Coorie was one of the few accommodations during our three-week tour of Scotland that disappointed us. The location of The Coorie, close to Galloway Forest Park, is ideal for excursions. The accommodation is accessible, and there is a large parking area. The living space is spacious, and the garden is lovely. The small kitchen is adequately eqRead moreuipped for self-catering for a few days. However, the bathroom in particular was worn and dirty (e.g., hair in an uncleaned drain and corners of the room that hadn't been properly cleaned in quite some time). I'm not overly fussy, but in my view, renting out the place in that condition is not acceptable. Hide
