The Fish House is really well equipped to make your stay very comfortable. The location is really peaceful and worked very well with our dogs. We saw lots of birds, a deer and wildlife in general from the windows out towards the River Dee. We regularly walked into Kirkcudbright which took approx 25-30 minutes. The drive is less than 10 minutes. KirRead morekcudbright is a lovely town with recommendations for Skipper's scran van for scallops and delicious fish, The Masonic arms pub for a great traditional pub atmosphere, The Garret Hotel for a great beer garden and food and the Solway Tide tearoom. There were lots of places to visit within 30-45 minutes drive including sandy beaches, Screel Hill and Gatehouse of Fleet. The walking was excellent particularly with dogs. It's a beautiful part of the world and The Fish House was a lovely place to stay to explore the area. Hide

What a fabulous cottage the Fish House is. We stayed for a week mid March and it was the perfect base to explore the area. The cottage is tucked away in a wonderfully peaceful spot and the enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs. Being March, it wasn't quite warm enough to sit out much but I certainly enjoyed my morning brew on the decking watchinRead moreg the deer roaming below. Inside, the cottage its much bigger than expected with a lovely large lounge with a fabulous big window that lets the light flood in. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms very comfortable. There was a wonderful and very generous welcome pack for us and the dogs and a bowl of water and doggie towels ready for our arrival. The cottage was in a great location and we spend everyday out and about but enjoyed coming back to the comfort of the Fish House. We highly recommend it. Hide

Lovely secluded cottage, bright, clean and the most kitchen utensils Ive ever seen in a holiday let. Plenty of parking and the decking area is a sun trap.

Wonderful cottage with everything you need for a home from home. Small garden perfect for our four legged friend to explore safely. Very well kept and clean. Very quiet too. In a perfect spot for exploring the SW300 route and some lovely pubs/restaurants within easy reach.
