This remote holiday home enjoys a peaceful, woodland setting, nestled between the Cairngorms National Park and the dramatic Moray Firth coastline. Welcoming eight guests across four beautifully styled bedrooms, the property is perfect for families and friends looking to fully switch off and relax. A 0.5-mile downhill stroll through the owner’s woodland estate brings you to a footbridge, which takes you across the River Spey to the vibrant town of Aberlour. Here, you can explore the excellent array of independent shops or perhaps enjoy a tour and tasting session at the local distillery. Further afield, take a day trip to the medieval town of Elgin (16 miles), famous for its 13th-century cathedral ruins, or spend a relaxing afternoon in the colourful seaside village of Cullen (27 miles). The surrounding area is a haven for walkers, with routes to explore along the River Spey, through ancient woodlands, or to the summit of Ben Rinnes.
The light and airy holiday home is decorated in a contemporary style, with little nods to its Scottish heritage in the tasteful accessories and soft furnishings. Large windows and glass doors let in plenty of natural light and frame tranquil views of the surrounding woodlands and mountains. The main living space is a bright lounge/kitchen/diner with a vaulted ceiling and beautiful wooden floors. The sleek kitchen area has everything needed for a successful self-catering getaway, as well as a breakfast bar for perching with a morning coffee. Beyond the breakfast bar is a large, wooden dining table for enjoying memorable mealtimes as a group. In the evenings, get cosy next to the roaring wood burner to watch TV or chat about your day over a glass of wine. Patio doors open from here onto the garden so, in summer months, you can experience indoor/outdoor living whilst listening to the sounds of the birds in the nearby trees. There are two inviting bedrooms on the ground floor – a king-size and a twin – both with French doors leading to the garden. The bedrooms have shared use of a gorgeous family bathroom. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility room and a heated boot room – perfect for drying outdoor gear. The remaining two bedrooms can be found upstairs, nestled under a sloping ceiling, and rounding off the retreat is a second stylish bathroom.
Outside, an unenclosed, lawned garden envelops the property, with a sunny patio area with a BBQ for outdoor dining. Guests are also welcome to enjoy woodland walks through the wider estate.
