Just half a mile from a stunning Solway Firth beach, this exceptional cottage offers a fantastic retreat for up to ten guests – perfect for bringing together extended family or a close-knit group of friends. Your nearest quiet beach is ideal for beachcombing, seaside strolls and paddling in the shallows, while the larger Southerness Beach (3.5 miles) provides even more space to explore. Here, you’ll also find a popular seafront golf course (3 miles), a nod to Scotland’s favourite pastime. Nature lovers can head to RSPB Mersehead (5 miles) to spot an array of birdlife or visit Bainloch Deer Park (7.5 miles), where roe deer and red squirrels are frequently seen. After exploring the coast and countryside, venture inland to Dumfries (14 miles), a historic town known for its connection to Robert Burns and its charming town centre.

This 17th-century property, once an old stable, has been thoughtfully designed to create a truly comfortable and characterful place to stay, with high ceilings, large windows and feature fireplaces throughout. On the ground floor, the inviting sitting room just off the entrance hall provides a cosy space to unwind, with sofas, armchairs and a Smart TV. Continue through to the kitchen/diner, a spacious room designed for sociable mealtimes, featuring ample worktop space and a large farmhouse-style table that seats all ten guests. A breakfast bar offers a more relaxed dining option. Also on this floor is the first of four bedrooms – a versatile king-size with a zip-and-link bed that can be arranged as a twin if required – along with a well-appointed shower room. Upstairs, you’ll find the remaining three bedrooms and the final two bathrooms – one a beautiful family bathroom and one an en-suite bathroom. The bedrooms comprise a king-size room boasting the en-suite with a striking freestanding slipper bath, a double bedroom, and a flexible family room that can be configured as either two doubles or four singles.

Step outside into the shared courtyard, where you’ll find private parking and secure bike storage. Beyond this, the wider estate extends across 24 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, including gardens, lakes and even a private beach – perfect for picnics and relaxed afternoons outdoors.

What an amazing location. Grounds were super for exploring and the beach was a delight. Friendly welcoming owners. The house is actually bigger than it looks on the photos. The kitchen was brilliant for big family meals and really well equipped. Good parking.
