Part of a sympathetically modernised 17th-century stableyard, this charming pet-friendly property offers an enviable base on Scotland’s stunning south coast for up to four guests. Just half a mile away, a quiet, secluded beach invites leisurely picnics, coastal walks and wildlife spotting. Nearby, Southerness Beach (3.5 miles) and the RSPB Mersehead reserve (5.5 miles) provide beautiful natural landscapes of wetlands, salt marshes and abundant birdlife. Golf enthusiasts are well catered for too, with Colvend Golf Club just 8 miles away and another excellent course in Dalbeattie (12.5 miles). Close by, Castle Douglas (18.5 miles) is a beloved market town and renowned foodie destination, filled with exceptional restaurants, welcoming pubs and independent butchers, bakers and delicatessens.

This characterful Grade B-listed cottage was originally a coach house and has been thoughtfully refurbished to blend heritage charm with modern comfort. Arranged across two storeys, the property centres around a spacious open-plan living area occupying most of the ground floor. The lounge/kitchen/diner is warm and inviting, with a wood burner adding a cosy glow for relaxing evenings indoors. One of the sofas converts into a single sofa bed, providing flexible sleeping arrangements, and sits opposite a wall-mounted Smart TV for easy entertainment. The adjoining kitchen is well-equipped for home cooking, while a separate utility room offers laundry facilities and additional storage space. Upstairs, you’ll find two comfortable and tastefully presented bedrooms - one double and one single - both designed with restful nights in mind. A family bathroom completes the accommodation.

Outside, a dedicated section of the courtyard provides a pleasant spot for outdoor dining or morning coffee, complete with garden furniture. Guests are also welcome to explore the estate’s 24 acres of beautiful gardens and scenic grounds, including a tranquil lake and direct access down to the beach. Private parking is provided.

Wayne and Alistair are perfect hosts in a perfect location. They are happy to let you get on with your holiday but are more than happy to help as and when required. The gardens are still work in progress but nonetheless truly magical. Plenty of opportunity to go for walks in the local area without having to go in the car. I wouldn't describe thRead moree accommodation as luxurious (too much holiday accommodation is overdone these days) but it is stylish, functional and comfortable. Can't wait to go back and check up on progress with the gardens. Hide
