Originally commissioned for its commanding ocean views, this coastguard cottage is perched in a truly special coastal setting and is the perfect retreat to unwind, reconnect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the sea all year round. With breath-taking views from nearly every window, the ever-changing coastline provides a stunning backdrop to your stay whether you are enjoying breakfast, watching the sun dip towards the horizon or curling up indoors above stormy seas. No 4 is beautifully positioned, boasting amazing sunsets. It has garden access to the Southwest Coast Path; East is Watermouth Harbour with a characterful converted-boat café and Sawmills Pub. Further on, Combe Martin borders the Exmoor National Park, and the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth, linked by a water-powered funicular railway. More eateries are in Ilfracombe (west) – the culinary and cultural hub of North Devon. If it’s surf you’re after, Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde beaches are a short drive away.
Walk through a walled garden to the front door; once inside, relax and unwind in the comfort of our cosy sitting room, the perfect place to put your feet up. Enjoy your favourite films on the Smart TV while taking in the beautiful ocean views. A farmhouse-style kitchen has all the essentials for fuss-free self-catering and is complemented by an external utility room where you’ll find an additional fridge, freezer, and laundry equipment. There is also a toilet at this level. Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining room has dual-aspect windows and elbow space for all to linger as meals are savoured and plans are made. When it’s time to sleep, a bathroom with a walk-in shower on the first floor serves three dreamy bedrooms, each beautifully furnished, dressed in luxury linens and thoughtfully crafted lighting. In the first, the zip-and-link bed can be made up as either a super-king-size or twins. A striking headboard steals the scene in the second bedroom – which has a king-size bed – while bespoke twin beds optimise the space in the third bedroom, showcasing views of the ocean to the north and to the east through dual-aspect windows.
