A 0.5-mile walk through the fields opposite the cottage leads down to Trebarwith Strand, where golden sands offer an idyllic setting for a day by the sea. The South West Coast Path can also be joined nearby. Just 1 mile away, the legendary village of Tintagel is a must-visit, with its striking clifftop castle ruins and connections to the tales of King Arthur. Further along the shore, Port Isaac (7 miles) is instantly recognisable as the filming location for Doc Martin and is a delightful place to explore, with its harbour, narrow streets and places to eat. For a change of scene, spend the day discovering Rock (13.5 miles) or Polzeath (11.5 miles), while food lovers can make the trip to Padstow, 20 miles from home.
