Designed for grand gatherings, this elegant Cumbrian country house sleeps up to 24 guests across ten beautifully appointed bedrooms, with 3 acres of private gardens, a library, a treatment room and a games room adding to its sense of occasion. Castle Carrock's welcoming village pub is just 500 metres away, making it easy to enjoy a group dinner without venturing far. Continuing beyond the grounds are the fells and spectacular landscapes of the North Pennines, which offer rewarding days on foot, from the open slopes of Cold Fell, 6.5 miles away, to the heather moorland and wildlife of RSPB Geltsdale (6 miles). Hadrian's Wall lies 11 miles away, while Cumbria's capital of Carlisle (9 miles) offers its historic castle, cathedral, shops and a growing choice of restaurants.

Enter through the grand hallway, where soaring proportions, period detailing and a sweeping staircase immediately establish the scale and splendour of this remarkable Georgian country house. Its original character has been carefully preserved, then layered with bold interiors, beautifully chosen antiques and the modern comforts expected of a truly luxurious stay. Settle beside the wood burner in the lounge and watch TV, retreat to the library with a good book or gather for pre-dinner drinks in the magnificent Drawing Room, where sumptuous upholstered furniture sits beneath an imposing four-metre-high fireplace. The Chapel Lounge offers another atmospheric space to spend time together, while the cinema room (open from 20026) is ready for private screenings with the whole group. When it is time to dine, the handmade kitchen provides an impressive setting for everything from informal breakfasts to celebration feasts. Keen cooks can make full use of the high-quality appliances and generous four-metre marble preparation table, or perhaps hire a private chef to take care of dinner while you concentrate on the occasion. The dining table seats 12 beside views of the garden, and the adjacent sofas are perfectly placed for coffee and conversation once the plates have been cleared. Evenings can continue in the games room over pool, board games or a film. There are ten individually designed bedrooms combining generous proportions with boutique hotel comfort. Choose from a dramatic ground floor king-size bedroom with a roll-top bath, an impressive super-king-size suite with a deep copper bath, a king-size room with its own balcony and outdoor bath, a welcoming twin suite and a characterful dormitory with three bunk beds sleeping six. Another elegant king-size room completes this part of the house. Each has its own en-suite shower room, luxurious mattresses, and wool toppers, with views stretching across the gardens or surrounding Cumbrian landscape. Four further bedrooms offer king-size zip-and-link beds, allowing them to be arranged as twins if requested in advance. Three have en-suite shower rooms, while the fourth benefits from an en-suite bathroom with a bath. A dedicated treatment room is also due to open in November 2026, bringing an additional touch of hotel-style indulgence to group stays.

Outside, 3 acres of glorious gardens create plenty of room to spread out. Sink into the four-person copper roll-top hot tub, light the BBQ or gather around the fire pit as the evening cools. Families can make their own pizzas before cooking them in the outdoor oven, while the garden sofas provide a comfortable spot for reading or catching up over a drink. Ample private parking makes arrivals straightforward, even when guests are travelling in several cars.
